A city a story#10 - Taste the multi-cultures food in Tiehua Village! 到台東鐵花村嚐嚐在地美食！

Tiehua Village is in the downtown of Taitung City, which is located in the south eastern part of Taiwan. Before we visit this place, we should have some understandings toward the city. And then we may able to know the reason why it makes the village so unique and so fabulous!

Due to the location and history, there are beautiful nature and multi-cultures of the Taitung County, and these factors also make it a spot differs from other cities of Taiwan. Meanwhile, it is the abundant natural resources and aboriginal cultures make the city well-known and attractive to all the visitors here!

From Taitung City downtown, you can easily get to the beach or mountains in half an hour, or more fabulous, you can embrace both at the same time!

In recent years, there are many foreigners decide to settle down or have a long stay here. They come here may be due to different reasons, and each reason could be related to the beauty of the amazing county!

You can name it a paradise of surfing, hiking, bathing the hot spring, cycling and many so on. If you are the one fancy of the aboriginal cultures, believe me, there are so much for you to explore!

Various Food Stalls

Something you should know whilst keeping watching the following pictures which is exactly the sign at the entrace going to tell you! What a lovely place!

Look the sign, it says “Give up on diet” for the time! Well, there’s no way to resist the temptation, so why not just, you know, give up for a while! lol

How can you resist the smile! If you’re a coffee addictive, you definitely have to taste the coffee dipped with the herb named “makauy” or known as “mountain pepper / aromatic litsea,” which is often used in aboriginal people’s cuisine and is famous for its special flavor!

Stone-roasted pork is definitely a must eat in Taitung! Absolutely original and yummy! Don’t forget the fried fish as well. It’s so fresh and you can even smell the ocean when you give a bite.

One more food you have to give a try is “stir-fried snails!” Yes, you didn’t make it wrong. One can’t imagine how tasty it is until you give it a try! Indeed, it may take courage for the first time, however, once you taste it, you’ll never forget how amazing it is. It did surprise me as it tasted so tender, juicy, and with a little spicy because of the sauce! That’s really soooo yummy, and you won’t regret for it!

Wanna try some veggie? No problem! There are plenty of local fresh vegetables, plants and fruits. And some are made as the sweet preserved, it’s so convenient to keep and easy to take away!

How could we miss the dessert? There are many stalls selling various kinds of handmade biscuits, cakes, bread, yogurt and many so on! Oh, my!

As I mentioned, there are multi-cultures in Taitung, thus it’s natural to see the delicacy foreign food here!

Little hot balloons hanging around

The idea of little hot ballons decoration comes from the“Hot Balloon Festival!” It is a big annual festival held in Taitung for years! Since it’s held in summer, tourists can experience it through coloring in other seasons!

Hand-made crafts and live music shows

Since there are many artists inhabiting in the city, it makes the village walk much more fun! As I know, you can regard it a kind of treasure hunting!

Well, never look light of the amazing gifts of the aboriginal people! Many of them have the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard!

Imagine the picture, people sit there with some drinks, mild wind blowing and are accompanied with nice music! Totally a place of blessing!

If you are the person in love with multi-cultures and nature, remember to make “Taitung” a must visit spot in your traveling schedule! It’s the place with magic to make people slow down their steps and have a totally relaxing time! If you are eager to smooth your spirit, well, it’s definitely a worthy coming place for you!
