Christmas are getting closer and closer while the mood is already here! Everyone has their Christmas hats ready for action and prepared for lots and lots of presents both to give and take. 

Hmm still something is missing

Where are you planning on spending Christmas? 

Don't worry i got you covered! Although i know most of you will probably spend it with your family and friends once in a while a trip is great to replenish your energy, see something new and in general do something else out of your ordinary daily life. If you are thinking it's too late now, i have to disagree as i believe that you can find a lot of special offers as i had in the past. So for all of you that need a trip i got a list i made with my top 3 Christmas destinations in Europe for 2017. I plan to make 1 or 2 other posts about Christmas destinations in Asia for sure and maybe Africa too.

Vienna Austria 

Vienna is a must for Christmas holidays as they had put a lot of effort into making their capital city into a magnificent spectacle for tourists. You won't feel there is night as the buildings are full of Christmas lights and if that isn't enough then just by looking around you the place is full of ornaments and Santas.  

Things to do: First of all visit the Christmas Market the N1 reason people are going to Vienna, markets that will force going to deep into the Christmas Spirit and force you take some weights as you will smell and taste a lot of chocolate and bakery stuff. Another thing to do is drink the well known Weihnachtspunsch  a Christmas punch that served hot and has many variations including alcohol if you want to in special mugs!

Rovaniemi Finland 

Do i have to say anything about this choice? If you love Christmas then it's a dream to be there, even if you don't care that much you can't argue that Rovaniemi is the Capital of Christmas as Santa Claus is there. The whole area is majestic and you might as well as take some clothes with you on this adventure cause you gonna feel the Christmas experience at it's fullest.   

Things to do: First of all you have to go to Santa Claus village, a village that is obviously dedicated to Santa and after that full speed ahead on a Reindeer Sleigh ride to Santa's Park where the magic continuous as you gonna meet the ''real'' Santa (how cool is that?). If you have kids i suggest this is the best destination for them

Athens Greece

Do you like something different? Do you like a bit better weather than freezing temperatures? Do you like to eat?   Do you like night life or churches? Then Athens is the best place for you for Christmas. Except the fact that in Greece we celebrate Christmas as one of our main holidays we kind of overdoing it a bit! We decorate both trees and ships (because we are that cool) and have at center of Syntagma square a Christmas market. literally when you get out of the train you transfer into the Christmas era!

Things to do: Mostly at Christmas it is a little bit cold for us but all in all the weather is quite good with very few rains and snow so you can go wherever you want and don't be afraid of getting excluded. We like to eat and have a good time and i think that is well known around the globe so we have tons of sweets that we eat only during Christmas like melomakarona, kourabiedes, diples and according to my info there are over 200 different events only in Athens ( not the suburbs) so you get the whole idea

Other honorable mentions that have proven their value are Cologne Germany, Glasgow Scotland,Budapest Hungary, Prague Czech Republic, Strasbourg France
