Filipina Travel Guide #19: Beautiful White Sand Dumaluan Beach Bohol Panglao Philippines
Your best bet for a tropical seaside getaway in Panglao with less tourist, more locals, and at a fraction of what you spend at neighboring resorts.
Perfectly located in Panglao Island, the island of Bohol known to its fine white sand beaches. It is a family-oriented beach that is popular for recreation and vacation. We heard about the beautiful beach so we were eager to take a look for ourselves.
How to get here?
From Alona beach which is the main tourist spot for restaurants and hotels ride a motorbike for the fare of 50 pesos per person or you can rent a motorbike for a day to explore the whole island. The entrance fee is 25 per person and 25 pesos for parking fee.
It was very relaxing and the view is amazing. We paid 25 pesos for entrance, but the view is worth it. I walked toward west and east like 2 kilometers, passed by the several resorts. Perfect for afternoon exercise. Sunrise and sunsets are also view able. This is the exact opposite of Alona beach. Peaceful and relaxing.
The beach on the west was quite a waste but I saw some building that's under construction.
The long beach, good for a walk or just to relax, swim and get away from the busy Alona beach.
Most of the beach is available for the public but some is reserved for the resorts.
I see a maintenance guy picking up trash left behind by tourist.
This pictures was taken while walking to the west.
The beach itself is white sand and has plenty space to either sit with the locals or to find a quiet place under the shades of trees. We walked to the west and look for a shades to put our things and we play Frisbee. It is difficult to find any WiFi so plan to be offline unless your hotel provides it.
After the walked to the west we walked back and go to the other side of the beach.
It's good for families with kids and large groups.
They have cottages available that you can rent that is perfect for your family gathering without spending too much.
The rent for beach side cottage for 300-600 pesos only, enjoyed grilled seafood from a nearby kiosk or try the karaoke in an air-conditioned hut.
Dumaluan beach is very pleasant to visit and is very popular and busy with local folk at the weekends. The best is like a Traditional Filipino beach.
There's also a restaurants available when you get hungry. Filipino barbecue food, shakes and other dishes are available in the restaurant.
For locals who don't want to spend money on the restaurants you can bring you own food. Less shops and restaurants so recommend to pack some food snacks and drinks.
When we swim we saw a lot of starfish and sea urchins so I still recommend to wear aqua shoes when you go swim.
After the swimming we walked to the east to explore the beach and some resorts has a guard post a sayings that “only registered in-house guests beyond this area”. The west side of the beach is a public area and east side of the beach are most private beach. The sunset is nice and very relaxing to watch with less people. The beach is long and before we reach the end we already feel tired and decided to go back.
It was lovely to walk on the white soft sand and beautiful Palm trees with hammocks.
Dumaluan beach is wide with very white sand the best beach in Bohol island. For a small fee you can enjoy great white sand and a beautiful view of the ocean. We stay in the public area but doesn't really bad as it sound. The place was brilliant and affordable.
