Museée Des Beaux-Arts de Dijon 2 Crown And Renaissance Painting

I never understood the word renaissance so here is a short description of it as can be read in the Museum

Renaissance in Europe
The word "Rinascimento" appears in 1568 to express a phenomenon born in Italy in the previous century: The renovation of Arts, under the influence of "The rediscovery of antiquity. This period of novelty flourishes during the 14th adn 16th century. Inspired by models from Antiquity, Renaissance thinkers give an important place to Man, who is now more than simply God´s creature. They exalt the beauty of material form and offer a new outlook on "the surrounding nature". The limits of the known-world are pushed forward: it is the time of western explorations,commercial and territorial expansions financed by powerful people. Innovations in science and philosophy enthrall artists and thinkers, who are sometimes torn to religious topics,artistic creation now looks at "Mythology" it reflects a more humanist conception of human figure, spatially set with the use of "Perspective". These innovating models soon spread throughout Europe, following the travels of King´s courts,conflicts, trade or travelling artists.
Animals Entering The Ark

It was saved and conserved after the french revolution in the "chartreuse de champmol" cloister. Was it used at the funeral of "Philip the Bold (+1404) or "John the fearless"(+1419) funeral ? Or was it the crown of a statue of the Virgin (Mary)?
