A Guide to Preparing for a Trip to Peru and enjoying the beauty of Peru

in #travel6 years ago

 Hello friend!

Right now I'm in Peru and the most questions are coming to me how to get to Peru? To answer that question I have prepared a travel guide to Peru.

Visa and so on

The good news is Indonesians to Peru visa-free for 183 days. So can be gratified to 6 months if you want to explore all the cities that are in Peru. From Indonesia I live strolled into immigration and can stamp the passport.

Flights

There are many flights for flights to Peru from Indonesia. From Indonesia the familiar and easy path is through the Netherlands with KLM. Why is that? Because when transit does not need to exit immigration or need a Schengen transit visa. So from Indonesia transit twice, Malaysia and the Netherlands, he does not need to exit immigration, stay inside the terminal.

( KLM Amsterdam – Peru )

While other lines are also familiar and can be taken is the path of Asia, namely from Indonesia to Japan / Hong Kong and the United States / Canada and continues to Peru.

Currently KLM is being intensively promo to Peru from Amsterdam, so prepare the best plan possible because the biggest budget portion to Peru is its flight.

Time difference

It is quite extreme time difference up to 12 hours. So if in Peru at 6 am then in Indonesia is at 6 pm. Things can make our body jetlag so I suggest to give time off at the beginning of the trip in Peru.

Currency

Peru's currency is Nueva Sol, its exchange rate is roughly 1 Sol = 4000 rupiah, forgetting exactly. For redemption I suggest do not exchange at the airport, the exchange rate is very bad, preferably in the Money Changer that exist in almost every big city.

In tourist cities like Lima, Arequipa, Puno or Cusco in some shops or restaurants can receive US Dollars or Euros. For trips to Lima I recommend bringing in US Dollars or Euros for a trip to Peru, upon arrival in New Perú converted to Sol.

Weather

As I write this note, Peru is entering the beginning of winter that lasts until the middle of the year. In addition it is a dry season with rain. For the best time to Peru I think it is between March - May.

Food Price

Okay, for food on foot or stall the price is relatively between 4 Sol - 10 Sol per menu. Eat in the restaurant between 15-60 soles per menu.

(food on foot in peru)

If eating in the restaurant will usually be offered in the menu entre, main course and dessert. Or if not just come to the restaurant buffet, of course will be more expensive but can take as much.

Culinary tastes

Culinary Peru I think is a mix between Europe, Asia and South America. For the Indonesian tongue is still very familiar, still suitable for the tongue of Indonesia. Some culinary is quite astonishing as Cuy / Marmut Goreng or Steak Meat Alpaca.

Noteworthy is the portion of food in Peru is more than the portion in Indonesia let alone in the area of Cusco which portion is a large portion. I am very fortunate to be in peru, besides the cool weather here the scenery and people here are very friendly and caring for each other.

Acclimatization Elevation

Many Indonesians from Lima went directly to Cusco to Machu Pichu. It should be noted that Cusco is at an altitude of about 3600 masl, if direct to Cusco can be exposed to AMS / Altitude Mountain Sickness.

I suggest to do altitude acclimatization in Arequipa first at 2500-2800 mdpl for one or two days, then to Cusco.

Oia for the matter of height is better to bring personal medicines to AMS, please consult a doctor in Indonesia. If not, please consume Koka Leaf to reduce symptoms of AMS.

In Cusco at the hotel where I stay almost every day there are hotel guests who use oxygen cylinders because of shock to the heights and exposed AMS. So better prepare yourself first.

Public Transportation

Public transportation in Peru is pretty good and I think it's cheaper than in Indonesia. Available bus, combi / kind angkot, taxi to bajaj that in Peru called by Moto Taxi.

For bus fares in the city is relatively cheap between 0.8 cents Sol to 2 Sol. Angkot hanging majors, ranging from 2 to 6 soles. For Moto Taxis depends on negotiation. For Taxi fares are usually fixed, but still relatively cheap really. Oia, taxis in Peru do not use argo, rates are fixed.

(This is a vehicle (public transport) in peru)

Travel between cities is also easy, there is an inter-city bus. Bus luxury, the average is Mercedes Benz or Scania, for the inter-city bus is relatively comfortable. If you do not like to use buses, can use the plane.

In the bustling destinations there are intercity buses as well as tour buses, such as my trip from Puno to Cusco, I use bus service from Turismo Mer which provides guide on bus and will stop at some tourist point.

Lodging

Do not worry, because Peru is one of the busiest tourist destination countries in South America the lodging option does not matter. Travelers are more budgetnya stay at a hotel or resort. The rate ranges from 300 Soles to thousands of Soles.

While a budget mepet can stay at the Hostal or Peru version for the hostel. In many towns up to the village though, this hostal is available to tourists. Hostal ranges from 100 to 200 Sol per night.

SIM card and Internet

Operator policy in Peru is if you want to buy a SIM card that buy is local because it will be recorded identity card owner. So if you want to buy please ask the help of local people or assistance at the counter.

One of the good coverage operators is Entel, can also use Movistar which cover better. If you want to add a live data packet to the minimarket or to the charging counter that exists throughout Peru.

Backpacker Or Traveler?

Free! For those who like adventure a lot of backpacker who toured Peru. For backpacker Peru is relatively friendly for budget, from lodging, access to food.

For the excess budget can use tour services. The biggest tour in Peru and very well organized is Condor Travel, this travel has offices throughout the city in Peru.

I suggest for some historic areas it is better to use a tour or guide, in addition to access there is also additional knowledge related to history, culture and culture of Peru.

Well that was the result of my trip to peru. And that's some of the most important preparation points you can make before you travel to Peru. If any additional, correction or question related to my trip to Peru please ask in the comments field.

I say thank you and forget to follow me with my next trip
