I've never been to Portugal but it's definitely on my list of places to go and I may have to move it up a few notches...

You have to come to Portugal, of course you will not regret it.
Porto is quite different from Lisbon, but both cities are very beautiful and interesting to know. Both have plenty of monuments, beaches, bars, restaurants, parties etc ...
And finally the cities are nearby, about 300 km away with good transport and access.
