Time To Rest After A Long Day Exploring The "Lost City Of Petra Jordan"

The hours exploring the lost city are coming to a close. As the day ends, the sun lowers in the sky, changing the colors of the sandstone to new shades of oranges, reds, and yellows. The camels and donkeys have worked hard all day, helping us reach new levels, and are taking a deserved rest. Our Bedouin camel and donkey drivers are resting as the day is slowly ending, they too have spent hours sharing with us some of the secrets of the city. The adventurers are weary after climbing the cliffs and wandering through the temples and tombs. Hours spent walking the ancient paths of an ancient city that is quickly becoming nothing but shadows. In the shadows we begin to make our way to the Siq, returning to the Valley Of Moses.

As we prepare to leave the city of Petra behind, we reflect on the mysteries that have come alive, as well as others that still lay hidden beneath the layers of sand and boulders.  These mysteries are waiting for another day of adventure, their secrets still buried and hidden. The next time we come, the city will have changed, as it is constantly buffeted by the wind, the sun, and the rain. We are thankful for the memories of today, and look forward to even greater ones when we return to "The Lost City Of Petra."

Very nice end to the day. Great photo. I don't think I have ever seen a photo of it raining there.

Thanks @s0u1 and it does rain but we don't have any photo's of the rain. The sand will be covered in some kind of grass. We really do need to capture that some day.

If you lived here it would be the other way round. Trying to find a dry day :)
