Papeneiland Cafe is very rich in history and famous for it's apple pie in the city of Amsterdam. As you walk in the door, it is like taking a step back into yesterday. Papeneiland Cafe is one of the oldest eateries in the city of Amsterdam, and has many ties to a historic past.

Bill Clinton put them on the map by dropping in for a cappuccino and a slice of apple pie.  He latter decided to buy a whole pie to take with him, it was so good. They are famous around the world for their apple pie, which they make themselves. Many famous people have stopped by to get a piece of this priceless pie. It is known to be the best of the best. No trip through Amsterdam is complete without stopping by one of the Brown Cafes.

The Brown Cafes of Amsterdam are the equivalent to an Irish Pub in Ireland. Brown Cafes are small cozy eateries whose walls are usually full of history. Papeneiland is famous for it's apple pie and people drop by for beer and comfort food. They often leave, taking home a whole pie. It is a wonderful place to gather after work and just relax, with good food, and conversation. 

If you are traveling in the city of Amsterdam, it is a must to discover one of the Brown Cafes. Papeneiland is perhaps the best and certainly the most famous of all the Brown Cafe's in the city. Wherever you may be in Holland, there is a Brown Cafe near you.
