Fugang Fishing Harbor in Southern Taiwan is awake with activity! Daily it provides a ferry connection to Green Island and Orchid Island. Green Island is a fantastic place to spend one or two days. The beaches are beautiful! The views are marvelous! Snorkelers will delight in all the colorful corals. The marine life is awesome! It is just a one hour ferry ride from Fugang Fishing Harbor. There are accommodations on the island and several dinning options. A perfect end to a fantastic day is a visit to the seawater fed hot springs. Relax those sore muscles! Unwind from a busy week! Green Island is a marvelous place to enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Orchid Island
Just a 2 hour ferry ride from Green Island is Orchid Island. Orchid Island is home to the Yami people. The Yami Tribe is an interesting oceanic culture with fishing and agriculture as the way of life. The Yami still build their traditional canoes for fishing. These unique boats are built with 27 pieces connected by wooden pegs. There is no metal used in a Yami boat. Change comes slow to the Yami Tribe. Many of the old ways are kept and cherished. The Yami have many restaurants in which they share their native cuisine. As with all of Taiwan, fresh seafood holds center stage in the Yami cuisine.
Orchid Island has some of the best diving in Taiwan. Divers love the many sites for wall dives and the old wrecks. There are many exciting reefs around Orchid Island with an abundance of marine life. The island has three major dive operations . Rental gear is available. Diving on the island, however, is a seasonal activity. Fugang Fishing Harbor also has direct ferries to Orchid Island.
Orchid Island has spectacular scenery and amazing sunsets. The rocky beaches have unusual rock formations. There are several large caves dotted around the coast. The caves are excellent for exploration.

Fugang Fishing Harbor is a busy harbor. It is alive with boats and ferries. It plays a supportive role in the fishing industry and has opened many doors to the tourist. The Harbor is extremely busy during the morning when the fishing boats come in. Fresh fish can be bought off the dock. Fugang Fishing Harbor has the largest Tourist Fish Market in Taiwan. While in Southern Taiwan, you will not want to miss it. Adventure is everywhere!
