The Crowds Heading To The Mong Kok District To Shop
Mong Kok is one of Hong Kongs most interesting shopping spots. If you love the unique, enjoy the locals, and want interesting and different things to take home, this is the shopping district for you. A day at the Mong Kok Markets, is an adventure in the art of shopping. Whether you choose to window shop or buy, it is an experience you will not soon forget. Here are just three of our favorite markets within the Mong Kok Market District (The Ladies Market is another one of the top five).
Exotic Blooms In Mong Kok Flower Market f Hong Kong
If you like flowers, how can you help but love the flower market? Pictured are the blooms that have overflowed the flower shops into the street. These little shops are just beaming full of exotic blooms from places all over the world. The air for blocks smells like a little piece of paradise. A stop at the flower market is a stop in flower heaven. It is an area full of unique blooms, awesome colors, and heavenly scents.
Good Luck Reflections In The Goldfish Market
For a truly exotic adventure, a visit to the Goldfish Market is a must. There are exotic and colorful fish from all over the world. In addition to the many types of tropical and exotic fish, are the many species of turtles, rare lizards, and colorful salamanders to name just a few. The Goldfish Market is one of the top five markets in the Mong Kok District.
Yuen Po Bird Garden Is Keeping The Culture Of The Songbird Alive
One of the oldest customs in Hong Kong is songbird keeping. Yuen Po Bird Garden assists with the preserving of this traditional and ancient culture of the keeping of songbirds. The art is as ancient as China and the song is new every morning. All over the Chinese District the older men come with their cages in hand. Each cage is carefully covered to prevent waking the caged bird before his time. Within the market area is a park, where they line up the cages and enjoy the company of each other.
These are just three markets within the many markets of Mong Kok Market District. There are ladies markets, electronics market and many more. It almost seems like there is a market for everything under the Hong Kong sun. Tarry for a while in the evening to take in one of the awesome Hong Kong sunsets. They are some of the most colorful sunsets in the world. Then walk over to one of the many cafes for some of the freshest seafood around.Everyday is a perfect day for a Mong Kok adventure.
