Boston's First Skyscraper
Boston Custom House Tower
Are you looking for an awesome one of a kind view, without the hassle of large crowds of tourists pushing their way in? The Prudential Center's Skywalk is the number one tourist destination and tickets must be bought at 17.00 each. But there is a little known observation deck that is part of the Marriott's Custom House Hotel. Built in 1849 this 496 foot clock tower is complete with a neoclassical architectural design from the 1800's. It is the 17th tallest building in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Custom House Tower is a major icon in the city of Boston. Secluded on the 26th floor is a 360 degree observation deck that is available for a 4.00 donation for both hotel guests and the public as well. As an added bonus, there is a magnificent view of the Historical District.
Viewing hours are limited, so it is recommended that you call ahead. While it is not the top tourist location, and it is not 50 floors tall, the view from the 26th floor is spectacular and includes the beautiful Historic District. So why not gather the family and discover the city of Boston from one of the cities most prized icons.

When visiting the USA I will try to pass by in Boston!
Boston and New England, in general, is well worth seeing, especially in early October when the autumn colors are spectacular, and also if you enjoy history. Hope you have a chance to visit.
