The day in Caesarea is really beautiful and the water in Herod's Port is the deepest blue. As you walk through the ruins you can envision another time. The palace ruins are in remarkable shape.

In the ancient world, there are many coastal cities which had large circuses or arenas. By locating the circus parallel to the beach, the spectators could enjoy the sea breezes. In many ways these ancient buildings were like mordern day movie theaters or sports arenas. Each facility had many passageways to enter and leave the arena. Many of these passageways are in really good condition. This is especially true of the Caesarea ruins.
