Travel to the North. Vershinino

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Here we are in Vershinino!

The village of Vershinino is the center of the Kenozersky National Park. Of course, the most important center is in Arkhangelsk. Immediately at the entrance is a visit-center where we were registered and given permission to stay in the park, prompted and helped to do absolutely everything that we would ask! We were immediately placed in a guest house, given the phone numbers of all possible people who could ride us on a boat, gave the number of the person who sells gasoline, called by phone in another village and arranged with a boatman and an excursion to the chapel to the next day. In general, the service is just on top!

After the placement, we immediately began to rest, got some sleep from the road. And then went for a walk around the village, to study the sights.

Lake Kenozero has an irregular shape and consists of bays, islands and individual smaller lakes, so it does not seem large.

Vershinino consists of two parts: the first - Vershinino, the second - Pogost.

Anya throws stones at the lake.

And the lake is restless, angry probably.

Floppy sinking gangway.

The main transport here is a boat.

The main animal is a cow.

Feels the northern breeze.

So we reached the main sight of Vershinino - Chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

I used to see her in pictures, that's why I wanted to visit here. But in the reality is completely different! A hundred times steeper!!!

A great variety of field herbs only enhances the effect!

A strange visual effect of the chapel: near it is small, squat.

But it is worth moving away, as it increases in size, it acquires greatness.

Cows. They are everywhere and always! They are part of this area, without them it would not be Vershinino.

Photographer and model.

The roads in Vershinino are laid with slabs.

View of the second part - the village of Pogost.

Near our guest house. The price is 500 rubles per day ($8.42). Bathhouse - 800 r ($13.47). Bed linen - 150 r. per person ($2.5).

To be continued...

What an unique place. I love that church as it has kind of a steampunk feel. Your photography does such a good job of telling the story of this place too. Thanks for sharing. Gotta resteem this one.
