The Sukhona river in Opoki area

For several days there has been an ice jam on the Sukhona River in the area of ​​the Opoki (this is a steep bend of the river, with steep banks of rocks).
I decided to capture this natural phenomenon.

For starters, you need to get to the Sukhona River from the Sukhona tract along the Strelna River.
Strelna here makes the last bend before entering the Sukhona.

The height as the five-story house and the gusty wind force you to hold on to the branches of the trees, before you approach the edge of the cliff.

Strelna in this place is clean from ice.

From Strelna to Sukhona is 150-200 meters! Sukhona, in turn, is chained with ice congestion, which in appearance resembles ice porridge.

Do you see arbors? There is a natural fountain – the place where everyone travels in winter and summer.

On the contrary, where steep rocky coasts, the Strelna River flows into Sukhona.

The water level in the Sukhona River in the vicinity of Opok is about 9.5 meters - this is more than the average annual values ​​of 4-5 meters.

So I got to the mouth of Strelna. Ice on the river.

If you fall off the cliff, everything will be bad...

If the summer captures the spirit of beauty and height, now it is also from fear of falling down ... although if you fall in the summer, it will not be better. You can touch the antiquity - the output of the rocks of the Permian period is very close to the outside.

The Strelna River for millions of years sharpened the shore, and who knows, maybe a million more, the height of these steep walls will be twice as high.

The ants are already awake and doing something bustling under the rays of the warm spring sun... in the day off!

The beauty of nature was talked about, now about the disaster. The water flooded part of the cape and the ice came very close.
