Peganovo–2018

The village of Peganovo is located in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region. The distance to the district center is 25 km.

In Peganovo I was exactly two years ago and during that time a lot has changed, but something has not changed at all.

The main landscape with the dominant of village has not changed - the half-ruined church of St. Nicholas is still standing among the old birch trees.

Unfortunately, the condition of the first-aid post has not changed either - for two years no repairs were made in it.

In the House of Culture, everything is also leaking ceiling.

And at the door all the same dog wait his mistress.

Even at meetings, the same activists voice the problems of the settlement.

But over the past year there have been some dramatic changes.

Peganovo burns! The only store burned down.

Many private houses burned down.

And all this in the same territory. The cause of the fires is arson.

The arsonist is already caught and under investigation, but for a very long time he managed to go unpunished and the houses burned one after the other.

Another lawbreaker was also arrested, but the defendant was already charged with fraud. He under the guise insured his non-residential house and burned it.

Now residents are afraid to sleep at night and even organized a nightly duty with a patrol.

Another important change is that the school was closed in Peganovo. The building is put up for auction and residents are afraid that a sawmill will be built in its place.

Only the landscape around the church does not change...

In the village there is a very dilapidated housing.

People live in such houses!

I did not invent anything - windows are inserted on the second floor, there is a dog at the entrance, a car is parked near, satellite dishes are hanging on the house!

Most likely, people settled there illegally.

Peganovo inevitably turns from a quiet and cozy village into a depressive and even dangerous place from which you need to leave.

In the fall is everywhere such feeling. Winter will come, cover all the shit with a fluffy white blanket and this landscape will be transformed until the next off-season. But the problems will remain...
