Old Pochinok

Old Pochinok is a village in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region. It is part of the Upper Shardenga rural settlement. Located on the border with Kichmengsko-Gorodetsky district. The distance by road to the district center of Velikiy Ustyug is 58.5 km, and to the center of the municipality of Upper Shardenga is 12.5 km. From the asphalt road is at a distance of 150 meters.

The village is very close to a good road, but nevertheless the houses in it are abandoned.

A little closer to the road lies a mountain of logs - somewhere nearby is the working cutting. There is one street in the village, houses stand on both sides.

As in many other villages, there is a huge poplar in Old Pochinok.

Most likely the facade of the roof is rotten from old age. In general, this is the usual five-wall house.

This house is the best preserved of all the rest. It is still used by someone. In the courtyard there is a good sauna, a well, and fresh traces of a car are visible on the ground.

In the second half of the village there is simply no road.

Houses still represent a holistic form, but very soon turn into ruins.

Houses in the village are in the penultimate stage of extinction. It will be followed by the stage of transformation into ruins — this is when it becomes difficult to determine the shape and size of the former structure.

Here, for example, you can still understand that there was something like a club or village council. Or maybe it was a school.

And here we can only assume that it was a five-wall house. There is no clear boundary between the stages. A thought had just occurred: to capture all the stages of the destruction and disappearance of a house in sequence. It would be informative, even for myself.

It is good to walk in such places, while the grass is low.

All trips to abandoned villages are better to plan for the end of spring or the beginning of summer. In the middle of summer will be hot, tall grass, mosquitoes, dew. At the end of summer and at the beginning of autumn elk fleas prevail...

Old Pochinok is an ordinary abandoned village. There are places of amazing beauty, but even here there is nothing to say. This place is quite comfortable, but no more.

Most importantly, I managed to capture what was left of her.
