Natural boundary of Ivannikovo

The words "natural boundary" has several values. In Soviet times, the status of the natural boundary was appropriated to uninhabited and disappeared villages, which is somewhat incorrect from the point of view of cartography and geography. But this is a big plus for those who are digging or studying ancient sites.

In our case, the natural boundary is also formed from the disappeared village and is named as well as the nearby riverbed lake.
Ivannikovo is located not far from the bank of the South River among floodplain meadows and copses.

All that is left of the once standing village here is the Church of St. Johann the Evangelist. Although there is also little left of the church.

No, all the same slightly more than the previous photo! But this is very small.

And these remains of the walls are on the verge of becoming a ruin. All around the cracks and all is poured out right before our eyes.

The church from afar is difficult to see, as it is all overgrown with trees. It was built in 1726.

Nearby there is a cemetery, which is divided into two parts. Older is at the church itself.

And the modern one is in the neighboring birch grove.

The territory of the cemetery is removed from garbage, branches and grass. There are more or less fresh graves – it means that people from neighboring villages are buried here.

From the cemetery birch alley only the cross of the church of St. Johann the Evangelist is visible.

Not far from the destroyed temple lies a dome, which already begins to grow into the ground.

From the dry grass, rusty crosses overgrown graves stick out...

Heavy leaden clouds gathered for a long time around and finally poured on us everything that they had accumulated, driving us from this gloomy place. But we were not upset, because we were already going to leave anyway.
