Krasnaya Gora (Red Hill)

One of the oldest places in the city of Veliky Ustyug, a microdistrict and the same name street.

Here is the abandoned Pokrovskaya Krasnogorskaya church.

Before writing the post, I rummaged all my archives and realized that I do not have many normal photos of this interesting place. There is something to work on and it even pleases!

Krasnaya Gora is the former bank of the Northern Dvina River. After the river in the 10th century drastically changed the channel, there were floodplain meadows and a hill on which the Red Slope was located.

Nearby is a commemorative chapel, built by a local entrepreneur.

The place is very old ... there is not a new one built there.
