Extempore London!
Someone is travelling to London on Sunday!! Someone is super excited! That someone is me and apparently talks of herself in third person.
The reason why I call this trip extempore, is because it came out of nowhere, and was definitely not planned. I of course have been wanting to travel, but had no plans before Steemfest in Poland. One late night the American Boy @jeffjagoe, who I got to know in last years Steemfest, send a message saying he'll be coming to Europe in less than two weeks. He is attending the World Blockchain Forum, being a crypto evangelist and all, and casually told me to hop on over to London too.
Me being me, my first response is NO because plane tickets are expensive now, London is expensive, and cryptos are doing bad and and and, I'm good at making excuses and overthinking shit. So I said no, but the idea sounded so tempting that I texted him back a day later and said that if the offer is still standing, I'll come! Hell with all the doubts, I'll figure it out. Need to say YES more often when good things come my way.
So for a couple days, me and @jeffjagoe will be doing all the touristy stuff around London, and then I have two days to do something by myself. He will be soaking up all the latest crypto news in the conference, and I'll probably be taking pictures and drinking tea around the town.
I really like London, been there three times before, and thought it hasn't been that long since the last time, but apparently it was in September in 2013. I took my sister in there and we stayed for a few days, these two pics are taken by her. It's about damn time I go back!
See ya at Gatwick!
See ya soon! 🤗
Somewhere u will absolutely love is Petersham Nurseries in Richmond https://petershamnurseries.com/richmond . Its got an (expensive) restuarant, but also a more affordable cafe. However, its the plants and flowers that make this place a hidden gem.
Thank you for the recommendation, I'll add it to my list of possible places to visit, but I know I can't go to all of them!
OMG!!! These pictures are awesome!!!! No, really, I love these pictures, I love London, and I love light, or at least, playing with it, which you did just great.
Now I need some coffee...
I'll send the praise to my sister! I'm all about that playing with light too.
HAha, judging from your comment, you don't need any more coffee, you are wired enough as it is ;)
Lol, thank you! I think... ;-)
Don't skip the World Blockchain Forum. ;-)
Wanna buy me that 1000 pound ticket? I sure as hell can't afford to waste my hard earned money for that.
Nah ... didn’t know the price is that crazy.
Yep, pretty insane for a two day thing. If I pay that kind of money for a conference, it should involve full upkeep!
Ah I don't go to London much nowdays, it's only an hour from me but I spent too many years commuting to want to do it much now.
I head in for the odd block-chain or solar energy convention when I'm feeling like it, but I live in the countryside and it suits me better.
I'm sure you will have a great time, I saw you wanted to go to Kew and it's definately worth a visit.
Hope you to enjoy it more than your imagination😊
Lol......3rd person. Nice. Hope all of the Eve's have a memorable time.
(Sorry about not upvoting, my VP is close to 50%.)
London should have everything for everybody. What do you have in mind?
Don't you worry about that one! :) For this time, visiting the Kew Gardens is a must on my list, because I love plants and I have never been there before!
Ah! Should've known from your spending a lot of time at the botanical garden in Helsinki.
I don't know why I didn't visit them on my previous times in London!
Absolutely amazing pictures!
Just make certain you stay safe - London is not the same as it was 5 years ago.
Now you making me scared!
New York used to be the capital of crime - it is now London, thanks to the attitude that police are not responsible for stopping the criminals (they say they don't have the manpower and money as they are used for spying on Brits on the web, to catch anyone using hate speech.
Just this year, murders in Londonistan have passed the 100 mark.
I'm not saying do not go, but if you do, take the same precautions as you would in Pakistan - certainly nothing as attractive as the tight jeans in the photo. Keep yourself covered and always be certain you have company. Never look thm in the eye, as they think that means you want sex.
Sorry, but I would rather you worry, than read about you in the news
I'm already quite the over thinker and very aware of my surroundings at all times, so I think I will be fine. I never go on walks alone in the dark if I'm in pretty much any city, let alone in a huge one.
I know you are partly joking about the clothing thing, but I think the sad reality is that a cute little girl is a more favourable target than a fat whale.
The photo you showed of yourself, taken by your sister, you looked slim and long-legged...so was being serious
I had a family member, in UK for study, get raped in the afternoon, so my message was meant seriously. I saw the trauma it caused her and she tried to commit suicide and since then has no dreams anymore of having children etc.
Still, I want to be clear that I am not saying do not go, or else they win, just that you should be careful.
I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm always careful and I will make sure I don't go into dark alleyways alone.
