Traveling in 3rd world countries with kids. Worst border crossing so far going into Guatemala!

In the fall of 2015 my wife and I decided to pack everything we own in storage, leave Colorado and head south with our three kids and two dogs for two year adventure traveling through Central America. We’ve had some amazing adventures over the last eighteen months, but one memory I will never forget is our border crossing into Guatemala when some little scam artist stole my passport and wanted $360 USD to get it back.
