I think that the high cost of travel keeps people from free moving around the world. Many are not ready to part with the familiar environment and want to travel with maximum comfort. Naturally they will have to pay much for comfortable conditions.
But if you expect from a journey not of comfort and daily routine, but of new experience, new sensations, one must be ready to try a non-standard approach.
Well said. It's the comfort they cost money. But still if you feel like going a bit out of your comfort zone you will find its not all so scary :)
