Fishnado = millions of sardines in a vortex
The town of Moalboal is one of the best destinations for divers due to its famous sardine run. As for non-divers (like me), you can still experience the magnificent sardine run by snorkeling. The sardines are just a few meters away from the mainland! We wondered why those sardines prefer swimming near the town. I think it has something to do with migration patterns, but I’m not sure.
Honestly, I was quite shocked to see divers “swimming” below me. I thought they have a specific location or reef where they’ll be diving around. But no, you will actually be swimming with both divers and sardines. And that is okay, the sardines won’t change their formation if no divers are interacting with them. Haha. Someday, I would love to try diving as well.
It was definitely a new experience for me. Swimming with millions of sardines was something I have never thought of doing. Little did I know that watching clouds of sardines create a variety of forms and shapes with the blue backdrop is definitely something phenomenal and is a definite must-do for Cebu travelers.

Moalboal sardine run is really an exciting thing to watch in the town. The nearby town of Badian is also a must-visit place.
