The Buzludzha Monument is the former ‘House’ of the Bulgarian Communist Party. Built at enormous expense it lasted 8 years before being abandoned.
The Bulgarians make better wine than they make decisions!
It looks like an abandoned spacecraft, hence my simple selection of accompaniment! Space Oddity by David Bowie.

Being a craftsman myself, it pains me to see the efforts of the people who created this going for nothing, but even if some of the effort were mine, I would be perfectly okay letting this stand and slowly come apart as a rotting testament to the failure of communism, and the horrors of tyranny.
It's the sculptors and mosaicists (no idea if that is right!) and all those guys - 5 yrs in construction - so sad. The riddance of communism is a blessing; though it is taking its time to unwind, I am told.

Thanks very much! I do that ... demonstrate that I have read/watched etc. I hate the idea that someone thinks I have just skipped to the bottom and replied inanely.
That's just strangely surreal, especially accompanied by Bowie... almost like we are viewing something on another planet; part of some lost civilization. Nicely done!
Thank you - I enjoyed your fishing story - it did bring up some memories but I think mine could still be going!! You got the killer whale story - one of my things on steemit is to remind people that orcas are dolphins - they were supposed to be called whale killers but got the words the wrong way round!
