Portland Trip - Ovation Coffee Review

in #travel7 years ago

Portland is known for a few things and coffee is one of them and coffee is something my wife and I really love. We decided to check out a coffee spot that was located near where we are staying and it had great reviews, Ovation Coffee. They put a unique twist on some of there drinks adding aromatic Moroccan spices to many of there lattes.

I ordered the Morroccan Latte which is your standard latte with a few added Morroccan spices and some dried honey on the top. I'm normally not a huge, huge fan of lattes but the dried honey added just the right amount of sweetness to the drinks and the spices added a little bit of "something" to jazz up the steamed milk.

My wife on the other hand decided to get something a little less traditional based on the Baristas suggestion. She ordered the Pistachio Latte. It was extremely creamy, and it tasted exactly like Pistachio with a hint of espresso. It is something you should try it you like Pistachio.

Since we had not eaten anything in the morning either we decided to split a marionberry scone. Marionberry is similar to a raspberry and local to the northwest area. It isn't quite as tart and super tasty!

Overall, this place was great. The staff was super friendly and willing to answer any questions that we had. The decor is nice, a little modern, so it may not be a place that you want to hang out for a long period of time. It seemed to lack the cozy atmosphere that many of seem to want in a coffee shop. However, if I were living in Portland or decided to come visit again I would come back and visit Ovation Coffee again

Very nice review of the place! I would definitely try that Pistachio Latte.

You couldn't go wrong with trying it if you like pistachios!

Oh my goodness, it was great!
