In the sanctuary, in the altar part, there is a small room with a staircase at the entrance. In this regard, the Jain cave is arranged in the same way as other cave temples of Badami. We see the figure of Mahavira, the founder of Jainism, Mahavira sitting in a meditative pose.

And no lingams for you! Meditation only! But one way or another, the topic of SHIVA will still be revealed! And the lingam is Shiva!

Inside the cave there are bas-reliefs with 24 tirthankaras, “enlightened” (teachers). Although I counted more. But I don’t know what and how to count. I am not a Jainist.

The beautiful cave is perhaps the most unusual cave in Badami. It blows from her some kind of ancient Egypt ...

There are 24 tirthankaras on the bas-relief! They say that Adinatha himself is depicted ("first nath", let's laugh about the first monks "lord", "master"). It’s strange that I don’t see the guardian elephant. Adinatha is the 2nd of the Tirthankaras. There is not much information about him. Lived, meditated, achieved enlightenment. Do you know what's the catch? God Shiva also bore the epithet Adinath. Like this! Bingo! Shiva in this incarnation is Jyoti-svarupa, the essence of spiritual light. Therefore, Adinthaha is worshiped not only among the Jains.

It would be interesting to look at all this beauty in its original form, with bright paint on the bas-reliefs and the walls of the temple.

Meditation in full!

At the back of the temple, on the wall, you can see some kind of erased bas-relief. What was there? Who knows ... Maybe someone did not fit into the official outline of the story and it was easier to erase than to answer questions.

We leave the Jain temple of Badami and again descend past the beautiful cave temples of Badami and stomp to the artificial lake (pond) Agastya (Agastyatirtha). The caves were cool!

Im hinteren Teil des Tempels, an der Wand, sehen Sie ein gelöschtes Basrelief. Was war da? Wer weiß ... Vielleicht passte jemand nicht in die offiziellen Umrisse der Geschichte und es war einfacher zu löschen als Fragen zu beantworten.

Und die Affen saßen und sahen zu ... Wir verlassen den Badami Jain Tempel und steigen wieder an den wunderschönen Höhlentempeln von Badami vorbei und stampfen zum künstlichen See (Teich) Agastya (Agastyatirtha). Die Höhlen waren cool!
