I love this story, haha! I had a similar experience when I was waitressing, I'm such a klutz I can trip over air and frequently do, and here I was balancing a tray full of plates and food-terrifying! I had a few mishaps but I learned, and it definitely helps to be really friendly. I imagine buying someone a beer would have helped too, but it wasn't that kind of place, so instead if I messed up I would give them food for free (shh, don't tell the managers (haha)
