ABOUT TODAY IN TORONTO
In Toronto, I always enter a transit bus and then the subway to get to my meeting place.
Today, I was late and hurried to the Bus Transit station.
I didn't know that there were three buses going on the same route. They were all at the station. Ignorantly, I entered the last of the three buses, and I was shocked to see all the others leave.
When I noticed my error, I tried to disembark to catch up with one of the earlier buses, but to my horror, it left. I had to go back to the last bus and wait.
I was furious and upset with myself. Surprisingly, when we finally left the station, I was shocked to see that my bus overtook all the earlier buses, as they kept stopping at various bus stops to pick or drop passengers.
I broke into a smile and I said to myself, "Yes! The First shall be the last and the last shall be the first."
Little did I know that my joy was soon to be cut short. As we approached the final station, my own bus began to stop more often until to my shock, all the other busses now overtook us.
Now, I dropped into a frown and I said to myself, "They that compare themselves with others are not wise."
That's when it dawned on me, that there is a scripture for everything that happens to you. You can make the Bible say what you want it to say... I just depends on how you apply it.
The thief will quote, "You shall reap where you did not sow/"
The heartbroken lover quotes, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh."
The lazy quotes, "The race is not to the swift."
The sinner quotes, "There is none righteous, no not one."
The adulterous quotes Samson, "Get her for me for she pleaseth me well."
So today, I learnt to use the Scripture appropriately and not to twist it to my selfish gain. So today, Lets do something different.
