#Day 23 Christchurch - the largest city of the southern island NZ 🏙️ (23-100)

Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island and secound largest of New Zealand. Christchurch is an amazing town to visit. Town is a popular tourist destination and has over 1.5 million visitors per year.
Once it was famous as the most English city out of England, but nowadays it’s known as the Earthquake City.
The Darfield earthquake of September 2010 caused much damage in Christchurch, 40 km away.

Before the city of Christchurch was established, there was a Maori settlement Puari 700 yers ago.

There are many parks and botanical gardens in Christchurch

The city has much more to offer, unfortunately we only had a few hours to visit it.
