Nice weekend at Bukit Tinggi, Malaysia

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Bukit Tinggi is a small town in Bentong district of Pahang, after Genting Highlands. It located 2000 feet above the sea level is a bustling small town hill village, filled with activities and tourists. Undoubtedly, the cooling and refreshing weather is what makes such a small hill town one of the popular attraction to visit in Malaysia.

You need to pay an entrance fee at the gate before you enter. After that you will be able to access to the three main attractions in Bukit Tinggi. They are named the Rabbit Farms, Japanese Village and of course, Colmar Tropicale. However, we only managed to visit Colmar Tropicale due to bad weather conditions on that day.

Colmar Tropicale, a French-themed village and resort inspired by the old town of Colmar in Alsace, France, which is known to be one of the most beautiful city in Europe.

There's a multi storey carpark beside the village. Even the carpark I can already feel like I'm in different country.

The French Village is just opposite the car park. We have to going down the stairs and cross over road to the side.

In front of the French Village, there's a water fountain exactly look the one we can find everywhere in France.

It is a gift all the way from Alsace France, presented by the Mayor Colmar.

You can find a lot of tourist here who spend a feel days at the resorts and also the local who always like to do a day trip or a weekend gateaway.

This is Poinsettia, well known for its red and green foliage and is widely used in Christmas floral displays. The weather here is suitable for the flowers to grow.

DSC04657.png

French Marigolds the aromatic annuals are easy to grow and brighten the garden with their cheerful shade.

DSC04656.png

I was also captivated by the colorfully and beautifully painted life-size horse sculpture. Well, I believe the horse-sculpture is definitely striking enough to attract the attention of most visitors at any time and day.

This clock so attractive to me... I really love the antique clock.

Once we walk inside, Rhys sees the girl who dress like the clown who give away twisted balloons to the kids. Rhys runs over to queue up for the balloon.

DSC04663.png

He requested for a sword balloon from the Miss Clown and his wish is granted.

DSC04673.png

Rhys: Brycen, I got my sword balloon. Hurray!!!

DSC04674.png

Since I got the sword, let's fight with the Knight!!

At the very end of the Colmar Tropicale, there's a few fun fair games for everybody to have fun.

This is the Hook-a-duck game. A number of rubber ducks are floated in a water trough. The ducks have metal rings fastened to their heads. Although the ducks appear identical, a chosen few bear a hidden mark on their base. Ducks with hidden marks are considered winning ducks. Ducks without hidden marks are considered losing ducks.

The contestant is required to capture ducks using a pole with a hook at one end. Each captured duck is examined to reveal whether it is a winning duck or a losing duck.

The contestant is typically given three attempts per game. The number of winning ducks captured during the game corresponds to a prize: Three winning ducks is equivalent to a top prize; two winning ducks to a middle prize; and one winning duck to a low prize.

They also have the Bottle Ring Toss game. The ring toss game at a fair is often flanked by large and expensive prizes, usually because it can be difficult to conquer. The game consists of glass bottles lined up side-by-side. The aim of the game is to toss a ring and have it land over the mouth and neck of one of the bottles. Unfortunately, the close proximity and size of the spaces between the bottles can make it a tricky game to win and a profitable game to run.

Daddy and the kids are happy playing the ball tossing game. But didn't manage to get any prize.

DSC04702.png

Too bad.... thinking of getting this cute little teddy bear, the smaller prize.

DSC04693.png

The second prize is this big pink elephant.

DSC04700.png

The super big prize.... Rhys loves the super big Teddy Bear!! It is so huggable.

Located right at the end of the cobblestone street, you will find an observation tower where you will get enjoy a spectacular 360° view of Colmar square. To reach the top of the tower, you could either choose to climb your way up the stairs or take the lift. For us, we prefer to take the stairs at our own pace while admiring the scenic view of the surrounding hills.

From the top, we managed to catch a glimpse of the Bejaya Hills Golf & Country Club too! Covering an area of 16,000 acres, the golf course is nestled high up in the mountains, surrounded lush greenery and rain forest. A beautiful sight, but obviously, it is a place for the rich only.

After we coming down from the tower, we go to the back of the building.

The guests from the hotel also can come out from the back entrance.

This is where the guests can have their dinner buffet at the outdoor area at night.

From there, we can take a photo of the whole wooden drawbridge where we walk into the entrance.

DSC04726.png

DSC04741.png

In the moat, we can find a couple of the white swans and the black swans. The are so loving and beautiful.
