Couple Travels- Picturesque Girona
Hello my steemit family,
my girlfriend suggested that I put some photos from our travels because we are so in love with steemit platform and community in general. Its much better that Facebook and Instagram because its so more real and honest. So I'm starting new travel posts- Couple Travels.
First destination we want to take you is Girona. Its a small town near Barcelona and its a perfect couple getaway. The best way you can come there is by train from Barcelona. It takes about forty minutes and the ticket is around 10 euros.
Girona is real representative of Catalonia and almost everyone speaks Catalan.
The greatest influence on architecture of the city had Medieval age. Girona was very wealthy during that time so it produced many fine Romanesque and Gothic buildings. Fun fact is that one scene from Game of Thrones was filmed in the city. In comments write which one :)
The city itself outside of the main tourist quarter is a joy to stroll through. The best way is just to wander the city and take some cool photos and selfies of course.
The second biggest reason why we love to travel is meeting new people. While we were sightseeing the city we saw the group of young people taking selfie so we just joined them. Someone would get angry but they were so friendly that we end up having lunch with them. Guy from China was so funny. It was his first time out of his home country so he tried many new things like surfing which didn't end well :). He also told us that he never smile while taking photos :DD
We ate at the small bistro on the lovely square called Plaça Independencia. But we don't recommend eating there because its to expensive and you can find better, authentic food in the narrow street outside of the touristic quarter.

It is a great place to visit. If you go to Barcelona, you should definitely check this little city. You will not be disappointed :)
Often these little towns get overlooked but they are just as good as their big brothers

I love Girona posts. Girona was the best city that I have ever been in Europe dear @doctorcro. Do you know this door https://steemit.com/photography/@readerchitect/girona-spain at Girona? I liked very much Girona's historical atmosphere and streets. I hope I can go to there one day again. :)
I live in Girona. It's a lovely place to live. I must recommend you to visit the city and to enjoy the Old Town.
