Stee(a)m Release - San Gimignano

Hello dear Stemians,

as you probably know, my wife and I rewarded ourselves with a two week trip to Italy.
We started from Firenze and we are moving down to Roma.

It's 7 am and I'm sitting in the yard of a beautiful Tuscany traditional house watching the squirrels playing and ducks singing. I'm not bragging, well I kinda am - so what.

Yesterday we went to San Gimignano to try the best gelato in the world. We did try the ice cream and it really is good, but this is not about ice cream.

We do tend to get lucky in our travels, and our visit to San Gimignano proved that. Maybe 5 mins after we got to the city we started seeing signs that something out of the ordinary is happening.

As we were waiting it the line for our gelato, thunder started in the background. Seeing how we got soaked in the rain a few times already we didn't think much about it. Then after a min a so I turned to Perina and said

That's no thunder, that's drums and a lot of them

Anywho, it turned out it was some kind of a festivity celebrating the rich history of San Gimignano, and on the yesterday's menu was the 13th century.

A lot of people in medieval grabs walking around and being happy. I usually don't enjoy that kind of things because they tend to be cheezy, but this one was kinda cool.

We stayed until the horses came and then left to get the last cup of gelato and we had to go find our next sleeping quarters.
