Cape Neddick Light House Site Seeing Photos
Here are some photos I took of the Cape Neddick Light House during our trip to York Maine.
Apparently this is one of the most photographed light houses in the world. There is even a picture of it on the Voyager Spacecraft which maybe aliens will find one day...
The light house was constructed in 1879 and is still in use today.
This steel cable is how supplies used to be transferred onto the island to whoever lived in the light house and maintained it. In 1987 the light house was automated so no one actually needs to live on the island anymore to make sure the light house stays lit.
The views of the Maine shoreline around the light house are great to look at :)
