Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car
Hi Steemit.
This is the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car which we can enjoy panoramic view of Hong Kong's Lantau island and will take you to Ngong Ping Village where we can visit the Tian Tan Buddha
First we went on the subway train to Tung Chung station. There is a big outlet mal beside the station and it is popular with people in transit at Hong Kong since it is near airport. This is the map of the area
We did some research before and found people complaining about the long queues and decided to purchase the tickets online. And luckily purchased at the right website
And we were right. There is a long queue to purchase ticket. So by online purchase we skip this queue. There is also a line to exchange vouchers. So if you bought voucher and not ticket you need to queue.
Photo opportunity before going on the cable car
Straight to the cable car queue. Only around 20 minutes. Not bad
There are 2 kinds of cable car. 1 is normal and another one is crystal. Crystal ones have glass bottom, could be scary for some people and costs slightly more.
We purchased mixed tickets. So crystal on the way up and normal one on the way down
There is a photographer taking pictures when you go inside the cable car
Cable car going up
Inside the cable car. It can fit up to 8 to 10 people
Glass bottom
Enjoying the nice view
Other cable cars in front of us
The journey was over 20 minutes
Some people choose to walk or use a bus. But i think it's different feeling to using cable car
The cable car stops at Ngong Ping Village which has the famous Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. Also many shops and restaurants, and other entertainments.
Tian Tan Buddha visible from inside cable car
It was a nice panoramic ride and we were glad we did research otherwise we had to queue for hours to get the ticket. There was a guy selling ticket for a little profit too like in the ferry terminal.
Cool view from the top , it is a must visit!
Thank you emilymichelle. Yes very nice view. A must visit in Hong Kong
you get to see from up high and save lots of time also got a lot of great footage
thank you bitcoinman, yes i was glad i read some reviews before going to the cable car, the view was great from up high
@djohan,
Wow that's a great view! But I am little bit scary to see through glasses beyond our legs :D
Amazing experience friend! Your daughters seem enjoyed the trip well!
Cheers~
thank you theguruasia, yes most people choose the normal cable car without glass bottom. The view is better from the window
What an awesome view you have from inside the cable cars.
thank you azfix, yes the view is really nice and it was quite a long ride, really worth the price
Who is the trip planner? Do you wake up and think what do we do or did you know from reading and planning days ahead? It seems busy....lots of work. You children are so very blessed.
Thank you floridanow. I usually plan and read some reviews before going on a trip
Wow. Amazing enjoyed the scenery using the amazing cable car.
But do not imagine if we have to queue to buy tickets and wait a few minutes and can enjoy it.
Thank you amuchtar. I think the ticket queue could be more than 1 hour that day
Your welcome @djohan
It is very time consuming if we have to wait for 1 hour. :)
School's been out for summer :)
You've been enjoying all the public transportations. When was the last time you drove a car?
thank you kevbot, i don't like driving when in foreign countries, especially crowded cities, it would be hard finding car parks
