Hong Kong
Hi Steemit.
Today we visited the central area of Hong Kong. We took the subway train from Kowloon, where our hotel is
The train was quite easy to understand and use. Also buying tickets were simple. Just click where you want to go on the machine and choose number of adults and kids and pay the amount. However there is limited change. So if you need to pay 30 dollars you cannot use 100 note, need to insert smaller note like 50 or 2x 20s
The map
Outside central station there is a park
View from the park
And a big HSBC Bank
We were walking to the Peak Tram and we passed another park
St John's Cathedral in the middle of this park
Some of the high buildings we saw on the way
And another park
The queue for the peak tram was too long
We decided not go up and went somewhere else.
@djohan,
I have never visited Hong-Kong! So your journey gives me a good idea what to visit when I am planning a trip there! Great work my friend!
Cheers~
Thank you theguruasia. It is a beautiful place with lots to explore
Amazing art, I really like the fountains
Thank you bitcoinman
I really love the parks, what a great way to relax and forget your are in a big city.
Thank you azfix. The parks are perfect for lunch break for people working in offices
It s a amazing city to visit:). The peak cable car would be nice
Thank you emilymichelle. Maybe save it for next time
Now that is a city that I would like to visit. How would you compare Hong Kong vs the other major cities in Japan or other Asian countries.? Thank you for the photos.
Thank you floridanow. Hongkong is the most densely populated city compared to other big Asian cities as the land area is limited. So its great place to visit while you are on transit to somewhere else as geographical location is strategic and it has great airport and airline, also free visa for short visit
wow amazing place friend and the beauty of nature is at its best in that place, i really enjoy watching the shots and gifs of that place, the greenery make the place looks more fresh and attractive, thanks for sharing your traveling experience with us, Stay blessed
Thank you adnanrabbani. We really enjoyed the parks and tall buildings
I spent a few days in Hong Kong in the summer of 1996 on my way to a friend's wedding in Cambodia. I wanted to see the city before the U.K. returned control of the city to mainland China. It was quite an experience. Some parts of the city had shanty apartment buildings in which people lived in poverty, while the commercial part of downtown was quite prosperous. During one cab ride through downtown, I don't think I had ever seen so many new upscale Mercedes on the road at the same time.
Unfortunately for me, by the time I got the hang of the ferries, it was time to leave. I'd love to go back someday.
Thank you gtrplayer. Wow you have a good memory from 1996, there are more buildings now i think. Those apartments still exist and look very crowded but interesting to photo and look at
Now you are in the New York of China. The land of business and tall buildings. I think Hong Kong is one of the most beautiful part of China to visit. It was so popular among us as kids maybe because of the names.
Thank you lordjames, yes it is very famous place for the high population and tall buildings.
Hi @djohan
Eventually you arrive in Hong Kong, a city that has tall buildings, and some other pictures that I see, Hong Kong is very beautiful, clean, and comfortable.
A very special city
Thank you amuchtar. Yes it has very tall buildings and a lot of things to explore here
Your welcome , @djohan
Looks like you will have many stories there.
That's some awesome transportation system. This is the first thing I notice when I travel somewhere. It displays hospitality, tech, and everything about a place.
This is a beautiful part of Hong Kong. Where did you come from and where are you going to next? IOHK.
;)
Thank you kevbot. Yes i like to use the public transport to experience the local lives. Going to Macao next
