Journey to the White PALACE (#1)

I still remember it was Thursday and we had a long weekend off till Monday . I was really tired of hectic routine of university. I just ask my roommate lets go out for a walk and we went out, we do not know that this going out from our room will take us to Kalam which will be the most exciting trip of our life . We were in Peshawar (Pakistan) and it was 50 degrees out . As we went out we were talking about life and all its cruelties, you know when two people walk out in serenity suddenly life become cruel.Cruelties all of sudden become visible and we become poor hopeless creature ever crawled on the face of this tiny planet called Earth.
Suddenly we stopped before a large crowd gathering around TV we went there out of curiosity . As we appoached we saw it was a scene of heavy snow fall in Kalam Valley on the news and the scene was so beautiful and mesmerizing that it catches our attention all of sudden and we decided we have to go there now by hook or Crook .We rushed back to hostel ,barely packed 2 to 3 clothes and bang!! here we are at bus stop (larry Adda -called in Pakistan) . I was in such a hurry that i forgot to pack sweaters and warm clothes but at that time who was caring about chill weather there all we wanted was to be at that place as soon as possible. We boarded the bus at sharp 12 am and it took us 5 -6 hours to reach Swat .At 7 am we were boarding for a van to Kalam which is again 5 hours drive. We choose not to stay in Swat not because it is not beautiful its because we want to go to much higher altitude but we captured some pics of this valley too.

It took at least 2 hours to reach out first stop which is Madian which is also very beautiful place along side river swat and Hotels were built on the river and the funny part is when you go to bathroom you see river swat direct below your feet.Below is the pic of one such Bathroom."Scared the shit out of me "is truly valid here

After having a cup of Tea we moved again for the destination it took us 3 more hours through curvy roads through hills to reach Kalam. AH!!! here we are jaw dropping scene of snow everywhere, fresh air ,tall pine trees ,rhyming sound of river swat. We checked in a hotel and went out for a long hike .It was 1 pm in noon but the temperature was -2 and to be honest i was shivering and i was feeling and cursing myself that i am gonna caught up in frost bite and die.But thanks to Local people who offer us warm clothes l.We took a lot of pictures and did little hike of course.

Morning Scene in Kalam

There was beauty all around covered in every inch that cast spell on me and i wished that time must stop and i would have all the eternity here. Every breath i took there was so pure that it actually felt different with some sort of sweet smell in it.

People there were loving ,Kind,Generous and very facilitating.The great thing about people of KALAM is that they have their own small hydroelectric units run by local people. We strolled here and there and saw amazing places and soon it was dark and we came back hotel and started planning for the next day.
