RE: Pueblo Inglés: Welcome to the Hotel La Alberca... chit-chat & shenanigans in the deepest depths of Spain!

in #travel7 years ago

This seems to be a fun community to participate in, not only it helps people who are learning english, but it breaks down the barriers and stereotypes, and broaden our perspectives by interacting with people of different nationalities.

You are forced (not literally, but it is part of the program) to interact with all sorts of people, different nationalities, races, ages, backgrounds, views etc. Some of which you wouldn’t interact with in ‘regular’ life but you do so here. And that is such a shame, you would have missed so much.

It would be nice if this pueblo ingles also exists in other countries.

Thanks for the comment! :)
It does... I'm aware of similar programs in Germany, Italy and Poland as well as several in Spain like this one. I imagine there are more across the world in some way or another.
For sure, a great concept and interesting experience!
I actually think the language learning is secondary, that's more of the 'theme' to base the social situation around...

So you stayed there for 8 days? It is like big brother's house,

Haha, yeah a bit like that! Maybe they had hidden cameras and it was some weird social experiment ;)
More like camp for adults, I guess. It ran Friday to Friday, some of these types of programs are a little shorter and run Sunday to Friday so not quite as demanding, as that first weekend is quite intense...
