A Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore - Travel with @detlev
Hey Steemians,
today I spend a day in Singapore 🇸🇬 on my way back to Europe.
And as being a cocktail lover, it is a must do action to visit the Raffles Hotel and the Long Bar to have lengendary cocktail
Singapore Sling
Sure, I ordered one cocktail even as it is just one o’clock today but it just didn’t fit at any other time at this short stopover.
The cocktail “Singapore Sling” is made by gin and several other parts. This long drink was developed sometime before 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a bartender working at the Long Bar in well known Raffles Hotel in Singapore.
It was served with a lot peanuts 🥜 and actually I don’t know why, but they tasted quite nice.

How to make a Singapore Sling
- 3 cl Gin
- 1.5 cl Cherry Liqueur (cherry brandy)
- 0.75 cl Cointreau
- 0.75 cl DOM Bénédictine
- 1 cl Grenadine
- 12 cl Pineapple juice
- 1.5 cl Fresh lime juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
Preparation
Pour all ingredients and the Gin into cocktail shaker wich is filled with ice cubes. Than shake all this well for a minute. Strain your result into highball glass. Garnish the cocktail with some pineapple and cocktail cherry.

Ja, we did a 23h stopover in our way back from Bali to Amsterdam.
Way to less time to see all the great things here.
Now we leave to the airport with one already sleeping kid.
