Travel hacks for stay & food.

The main issue is Indian men having ulterior motives. Instead of using the couch surfing platform to simply offer travelers free accommodations, they're interested in getting to know female travelers more intimately.

I am not saying all hosts are like that it's better to be a part of that organisation which is hundreds of years old & where you can be safe.

The word is Gurudwara

(Guruduārā or gurudwārā)

Have you ever seen guys with turbans? Just ask them they will guide you to this place.

If you don't have any money left or you are hitchhiking. Just ask anyone in North India where is a Gurudwara & you'll know a safe place to eat & stay.

They offer langar(free kitchen). The concept of free kitchen is 400 years old. Anyone can choose to seva (serve), just sit and get served or help in cooking.

Things to make sure.

• You wear a cloth on you head like a bandana.
• Only vegetarian meal is served.
• No alcohol allowed.

Humbly ask for a room or place to sleep they may give to you for a day or two & they don't charge anything. Generally they have a big hall where they can give you a bed to sleep.
