Mindanao Travel Blog Post #9: Dahilayan Forest and Adventure Park One-Day Trip
Our Dahilayan Forest and Adventure Park one day trip was the first successful adventure our family had ever experienced! Yes, you heard it right! This one-day adventure trip did undergo a very long way of planning everything due to schedule conflicts and some sort of financial concerns too.
Nevertheless, we made it!

So here's my one-day adventure blog story in Dahilayan Forest and Adventure Park.
How did we get there?

Having a large number of heads in a family is quite a joyful possession anyone could ever have and that is why everyone must come along with the said one-day adventure trip in a much accommodating way possible. So in our situation, we rented a van that can surely occupy 14 to 15 persons.
We leave at dawn around 5 am in the morning because Dahilayan's estimated travel time form our hometown ( Linamon, Lanao del Norte) is 3 hours and 56 minutes ( 156.6 km).
Coming from Lanao del Norte to Cagayan de Oro Highway up to Cagayan de Oro-Bukidnon Highway we then turn right on the Alae crossing. And from that crossing, we entered in Camp Philipps and pass through a scenic huge pineapple plantation.
As the trip goes along we manage to take some selfies even the van was moving. We enjoyed singing along with the music and hitting touches of humor with each other. And as we were so busy singing and laughing inside the van along the way, we didn't notice that we only took the trip for only 2 hours and a half.
So, before anything else, we should never forget to take some memorable family photos in their welcoming entrance signage.
Exciting Adventure Activities We Did in Dahilayan
Horse Riding
───────────────
Horse riding is available before at the entrance gate. The said small business is owned and managed by the lumads dwelling near the Dahilayan Adventure Park. They were so accommodating and very friendly too.
The kids were so excited to ride a native horse and that is why selfie with the horse is a must too!
Yes, you can accompany your kids while riding the native horses.
My little girl was so happy and excited riding the horse! She never wanted to get off! ( BTW, those cowboy hats are for rent too, for P20 only)

Capturing the Scenic View

Even though we didn't bring any DSLR cameras with us nor captured the scenic view of the Dahilayan Adventure Park using an expensive mobile phone. Still and all, we all enjoy the wonderful paradise with the whole gang!
We did not waste time and did not mind the intense heat of Mr. Sun because the wind was so cold enough to give us the 'USA like' weather.
The weather was so perfect and so as this family picture of us three.
It was surely not that easy carrying a two years old baby roaming around the park, but it was all worth it. Our baby girl enjoyed a lot!
The Playground
───────────────
As what I have said earlier that carrying a baby is not that easy and that is why I am so thankful for the administrator who decided to put a playground inside the park because we can safely put down our little tot and let her play along with her cousins and other kids too.
And a big thumbs up to the management for making the playground very safe for children.
You can surely see that my baby girl really did enjoy the playground.
Because 'SLIDE' is Aj's most recent addiction these days.
And I just couldn't count anymore how many times she played on the 'round slide'! VICE VERSA!
The park was not made for kids only to have fun, even adults can also join in the fun too!
Aj was not that too happy playing the seesaw.She wanted to play with it-- ALONE! LOL
Picnic Area and Life Sized Animal Sculptures
─────────────────────────────────
From the activity area, if you walk on the other side of the park, you will find the park's picnic area. Their picnic area is great for a family short break and the life-sized animal sculptures will surely be your children's favorite spot to play along under the pine trees.
Tables are available for rent which is a perfect place for any type of gatherings.
The life-size animal sculptures made my toddler's imagination quite well amazed!
AJ to Mommy(me) : Can we bring my panda friend with us? Pretty Please Mama!
Me: (shocked)Let see if papa can carry that one inside our van! LOL
There she goes!! she can't help it! LOL
Papa: Aj, as you can see it looks like your mom's big mouth whenever she's angry on me.
Me: What!!!! (grrrr)
Overall, what I liked the most about this place was the huge and tall pine trees covering the whole area. It was beautiful and relaxing! ( If you don't have a naughty toddler with you along) LOL!
Indoor goKart Ride
───────────────
The Indoor goKart racing is safe enough because they have helmets for the kids and it's not that hazardous.
She really thought she can drive this one like her bike at home... LOL
Good thing they allowed us to let Aj sit oh her father's lap while driving the go-kart.
But please! don't follow my husband because he's a hard-headed one and his not a kid that's why he keeps on saying ''No need to wear helmet''
She was making me jealous because I am not allowed to sit on her father's lap while driving the goKart! LOL!
The Zip line Ride
There are several activities you can definitely enjoy in the park. And one of it is their most popular zip line rides in different styles and longevity.
And if you are too afraid to try their longest zip line, you can still try the tandem zip line with your fave partner, in a shorter length. Just like my brother and my sister-in-law in the video below.
The Drop Zone Experience!
Visiting the Dahilayan Forest and Adventure Park will never be complete if you don't try screaming your lungs out loud while experiencing the 120 ft Freefall swing ride down into a manmade lake. This first-ever Philippine's very extreme pendulum swing is one of a kind experienced that I have ever encountered in my whole life!
Gearing up and preparing for the ride of my life! LOL!
And there's no turning back guys!! wohooo!
Contrary to me, Bryan was scared as hell of heights and this was another challenge for him since we would be swinging 120 meters above the man-made lake!
The staffs in the drop zone area were so friendly and took our photos with matching 'prenup like' pose instructions.
That is why I was so amazed by the staffs who catered us well because they have a huge sense of humor too!They made as pose just like teenager lovers LOL!Maybe they're making us calm.
We felt safe though because we really can see they know what they are doing.
I was just a little nervous maybe and there you can just see how I grab his arms tightly! But Bryan was such a good pretender and that he was able to give the camera a good smile too! LOL
When we heard the cables pulling us up 120 meters above the ground, I started to have cold sweats!
The best about it was that Bryan had to pull the trigger himself that would release the lock and start to freefall. The intense part of DROP ZONE!
As he pulled the chord, We screamed like a baby! Ooooooh yeah!!!!! THE BEST!
We felt flying freely and we wanted to do it over and over again!!!!
Bryan's fear of heights suddenly turned into a joy of flying! The best experience together!
Such a lovely moment to treasure forever!
As we enjoy the place and looked above, I am just thankful that there are places like Dahilayan.
Where nature and people thrive jubilantly satisfying!

Travel Tips
If you decided to visit Dahilayan during cold season or rainy season be sure to bring your jackets with your because Bukidnon's weather is like Baguio/ Tagatay.
In order to enjoy the whole rides and other services in a limited time just like what we have, be sure to plan your iterinary ahead of time and set your goals of what activities you wanted to explore. In our case, we only did some other rides and we are hoping to come back the soonest and try the other rides too.
If you want to have a 'tipid tip' for your big family, I suggest that you will bring your own picnic food for lunch just like what we did, so that you will not need to spend lots of money on this trip.
