Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

We decided to visit Puerto Vallarta after having two pages opened, one with Expedia for prices and the other with a map to look up places. On our quest, we actually found really cool places to visit, but it was just not the right time to go. Until we finally found Puerto Vallarta and at a great price!

We didn't expect to need more days than we booked our trip for, but man were we wrong! Five days was just not enough. We did so much, yet we missed out on doing so many things we wanted to do. We are thin, but definitely not in the greatest shape to be doing so many outdoorsy things so we would do an excursion one day and would want to take it easy the next just because we were so sore the next day from all we did. I do barre classes which really prepared me more than I thought, but my husband hasn't had the time to work out as much as he'd like so he struggled more in certain activities.

EL MALECON

CONCHAS CHINAS BEACH- This was my favorite beach! It was very private and spacious and you'd see 4 people max walking around, at least when we were there, maybe it's different at other times. The beaches in Puerto Vallarta are gorgeous, but they are also very deep as soon as you get in. There is also a strong current that doesn't help, so I would just go in for a few minutes and leave. We've only been to Puerto Vallarta once, so we can only speak for ourselves and our experiences there, maybe we went in a bad time where the tide was high or maybe the beaches are like that year round. I don't know for sure so do your research!

MISMALOYA BEACH -I didn't like this beach that much because there were so many boats so near the shore and there was barely any space for you to swim comfortably since boats kept coming to leave people on the beach from their boat tours. It was also a much smaller beach than we imagined. I think it's popular because of Los Arcos and also because they sell food.

LOS ARCOS (you can actually see them from Mismaloya Beach far away)

CAFE DE OLLA (http://www.cafedeollavallarta.com/menu.asp)- Our favorite breakfast spot! When we saw it was full of Mexicans we knew this would be a good place to eat. We actually had asked our taxi driver to take us to have a Mexican breakfast and he drove us past this restaurant so we could kinda peek inside before deciding and once we saw how packed it was we didn't ask for any more suggestions. This place was thebomb.com haha Check it out if you're in Puerto Vallarta!

Shredded beef w/ beans and plantains

Chilaquiles con Carne (tortilla chips topped w/cheese & some delicious sauce poured all over, plantains, beans and meat.

CUATES Y CUETES (http://www.cuatesycuetes.com/)- This was our favorite restaurant we ate at for dinner. We met up with some people we had met in our tour at The Marietas Islands (they were from Puebla, Mexico on their first trip to Puerto Vallarta) and picked a table right on the sand next to the beach with an awesome view of the pier in Los Muertos Beach.

Queso fundido con chorizo (melted cheese with sausage)

Camarones al Coco (coconut shrimp w/ rice & veggies)

beautiful place, MISMALOYA BEACH look awesome though. I notice cobble stones, they are such a killer to the feet. what a way to end with great food. :)

Mismaloya was pretty but Conchas China's was even better. We were ok with the cobblestones because we were with our shoes on, thankfully haha if not it would've hurt a lot! And yes food was delicious😋

Thank you for those free pics tips. Keep steeming :)
