The Most Beautiful Place in Bali - Nusa Penida (day 1)
Bali is the most popular place for tourists in Indonesia. Normally, I don't tend to fawn over tourist-saturated destinations but I declare: I love Bali. Yes, there are parts that are teeming with tourists but I kind of avoided those places while I was there. Actually most of Bali is quite undiscovered by tourists because they all tend to stay in one area.

I'm going to show you some of the less discovered parts of Bali in the next few videos, starting with Nusa Penida. It is an island off the southeast coast of Bali. I was invited to go there by one of the friends I made there. To get to Nusa Penida you need to take a ferry from Sanur.
Once we were there we rented scooters, checked into our homestay and headed off to Thousand Islands, also called Five Kings. It's a viewpoint that overlooks rock towers in the ocean. You can even stay in the treehouse that is there.
From there we walked to Atuh Beach past steep dropoffs and stunning scenery. The beach was one of the best I'd ever been to. So beautiful, quiet and peaceful. We were some of the only ones there.
This place has developed since the filming of this video. More people are discovering it and more facilities are being built to accomodate them.
We had to rush back to the port town to get cleaned up so we could go to a wedding that my friend Jay was invited to. It was a muslim wedding and I had never been to one of those and I'd certainly never been to an Indonesian wedding. So this was a very interesting cultural experience. After the ceremony, everyone eats food in the mosque and they happily welcomed me to join them for satay and rice.
After that, the parade started. There is almost always a parade in the streets after an Indonesian wedding. I got to walk in it, take photos and video and chat with some of the locals as best we could.
Stay tuned for Day 2 in Nusa Penida coming soon.
Would you go to Nusa Penida? Let me know in the comments.

Indonesia! thanks for sharing this @daveonarrival
You're welcome
:)
Ok, I'm feeling more hopeful since you said you love Bali!! By the way, I forgot to say this in my last comment...I really like your vidoes.
I'm glad that you share your travels via video because I feel like it shows so much more than a picture can!! I never attempted video before until 2 days ago...
...and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out (I mean for a total newb just using a phone). I felt like I connected more with my video than I did with my pictures.
My memories seem better captured there somehow. So, glad to find another traveler on dtube!!!
Can't decide if I'll continue dtube or not but I sure did have fun making the vid!
Thanks for your comments. I enjoy doing videos, but not sure if longer vlogs are what DTube is ready for right now so I'm kind of feeling out what works and what doesn't for now.
You'll figure it out!
