WOW!! Universal Studios- California. The VIP Experience!

in #travel7 years ago

You don't have to be a kid to enjoy Universal Studios. But, one thing I do have to say is if you go, you have to do the VIP Experience tour at least once in your life.

The VIP Experience gives you access to a small group guided tour. I think there were 12 people in our group. It started with a pretty good all-you-can-eat Continental breakfast in an exclusive VIP area near the entrance. We ate while we waited for our group time to start. Although they say it's not a huge breakfast, I was actually quite impressed at what you get. Here my wife is showing the VIP pass that you get.

As a VIP, you don't ride on the same BIG tram like everyone else. Nope. You get a smaller "trolley" looking vehicle with nice seating and free bottled water (as much as you want).

On the tour of the backlot, you get to see some of the same things everyone else does, but many are at a closer view. This is Bates Motel from the original 1960 Psycho movie.

Ever seen the home of Norman Bates? Spooky...muwahahaha.

And here we are, stepping out on the grounds of a scene from the 2005 version of War of the Worlds starring Tom Cruise. Yes, as VIPs, we got up close and personal.

You never know what will be happening around the studios when you're given exclusive "behind-the-scenes" access.

How cool it was to go inside the prop room where they store (you guessed it) props. You don't get this kind of access without the VIP Experience.

How about Charlize Theron's throne in the 2016 movie The Huntsman: Winter's War.

And who doesn't love this little guy from the 1982 movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

The tour wouldn't be the same without a stroll through Amity Island, home of the 1975 movie Jaws.

Jurassic Park, the ride...grrrrrrr. Expect to get soaking wet on this one!

And then there was lunch. Private VIP all-you-can-eat dining at Moulin Rouge.  Incredible food. Just look at that crab (already sliced for you, so there's no need to crack them open). Delicious!

Of course, the tour wouldn't be complete without seeing the wonderful world of Harry Potter.

And lastly, the Waterworld show is a must see. Based on the 1995 movie starring Kevin Kostner (yes, we know it wasn't a great flick), this show has a ton of action. They have "wet zone" seating which lives up to its name. You WILL get soaked. I'm not talking about about a little spray here and there...you will get drenched in that area.

Universal Studios Hollywood is a great place to check out. But, if you REALLY want to enjoy the park, get the VIP Experience package. I doubt you will be disappointed. We certainly weren't.
