RE: At First Glance - A Few Things I’ve Noticed

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Long time, no see, this sure is a pleasant surprise. God bless you, sir, happy 2019, I hope you and the Mrs. are having the best year ever. Thank you for all of the kind words and sharing those stories. I’m not a big fan of roundabouts either, not gonna sugar coat it! Eh, my wife calls them “social experiments.” Ha!!

We’ve been here in the past, we actually did our honeymoon here once, too, back in 2016 we spent a month here and that time we made the decision—‘let’s move there,’ everything will work out the way it’s supposed to. 2 years, 2 weeks, 5 days is how long it takes to get a honorable release from the feds. Could you imagine?? A common question during our being released was “did you sell all your furniture?” I would say, “could you imagine breaking your arm 3,000 miles away without ‘insurance’ and don’t speak the language?”....suddenly is furniture is what it is—nothing. 😉

I look forward to posting all of the various things we get ourselves out of, sir. We both really love it here. My best way to describe it is people don’t care what you do here, they only care about you. I’m used to “what do you do?” “Where do you work?” <- Common questions. You won’t get that here, all you’ll get here is Hola or Pura Vida. People ask who you are around here, not what you do.

Having grown up in L.A., I’ve been all through Tijuana and down into Ensanada, Rosarito, Baja etc. since forever. I’ve never seen any driving like this!! “Woah!”

Thanks for stopping by @glenalbrethsen, great to hear from you again, don’t be a stranger!
