Country Hotel has a beautiful story in the back, that of Marceli who has returned to the country to open what she thought she would be a bistro. He took a traditional Saxon house in Harman, close to Brasov, which turned it into something more than a bistro: it's also a guesthouse, a tailoring shop, but here Marcela cooks, which he knew at the very beginning that he wants to do. The house is decorated with traditional objects, . At Country Hotel, handmade is the key word, many of the objects, but most importantly many of the foods are made from scratch with local ingredients.

If you drive by car, the 4 kilometers between Braşov and Harman pass quickly as you eat a kurtos kalacs. If you come by train, from Braşov you can find races with the minibuses of a local transport company. The village of Hărman, an old Saxon settlement, documented in 1240, was founded by the Teutonic knights who were cast in the Barsa country in the 13th century.

In Harman we were met by a medieval, harsh, teutonic landscape with old houses, like old, well-maintained ladies, in a perfect line on the road, with impeccably clear windows beyond which flesh offensive orchids shone. Trees with proverbial German precision sprawled into the sky still unbroken branches. I was in February, but the spring sounded warm and discreet, like a whisper in the ear of a loved one. Impossibly, the fortified church of Harman, a medieval relic that kept history in place, witnessed the Teutonic dwelling in this land.

After crossing the fortified church of Harman, we pass by the confectionery in the window of which there was a weighing of a scales of those with clocks of the communist years. Beyond its windows, I saw Indian candies, long gone out of confectionery, the spoils of city excursion, during the years of study. What memories! What defiance of time!

When we reached the sought-after address, Marcela Cosnean, our home owner, "The Country Hotel", in the courtyard guarded by a massive wooden gate, invited us to an isolated world from the rest of the world. We were surrounded by three sides of the walls, and the fourth, the huge gate. Above the sky was floating and the promise that you would be totally safe, that nothing could enter this protective fortress.

"The Country Hotel," a Saxon house with white and tall walls and wooden porch, would be the place of our spoil and escape for two days. In the yard the young sun vibrated nervously in anticipation of the spring. In the same courtyard, we were eager to enter the huge 500-square-meter house that was already promising more.

"The Country Hotel" does not have that recognizable standard at all by the word that defines it. It is not a hotel, but a guest house that gives you the familiarity of a warm and welcoming home. The wooden furniture, the doors - a refurbished part, a part made according to the traditional Saxon model with wrought iron accessories - and linen linen with hand stitches project you into the world of Saxon villages a century ago. Only the laptop that you put out of your backpack to connect to the internet and your smartphone are bringing you back to the moment. And TVs can not be found in any room - in fact, you realize that it would be an impatience to pollute with the news at 19:00 the moments of contemplation that affect your own being.

And very soon came the meal, the living room with wide windows, arranged in a circular arc, at the table with chairs with leather Cordoba, with silver cutlery and fine porcelain plates! We understand quickly from our host's gestures - which we will tell in this simple story, Marcela - that everything that is uplifting in terms of serving the meal contains the words "refinement," "elegance," "impeccable." And that treatment is not only reserved for the guests, it is an integrated habit in its lifestyle. We also learned, on the second day of our stay, that here, in the past years, there were also "distinguished guests", such as Andrei Pleşu, Oana Pellea, Dan C. Mihăilescu, Mircea Dinescu, Horia-Roman Patapievici .

Which, perhaps, had enjoyed, like us, the best bean soup of evergreen tarragon, with Transylvanian cabbage gently threshed in goose lard - something tasty to taste! - with potato bread just out of the oven, with pleurotus mushroom pudding dipped in orange and curry sauce, deer pasta, with andive and mozzarella rucola, chocolate cake made from the finest ingredients of cocoa, yes!). Only the red, velvety and scented wine, which has kept us long into stories, gave a response to all these goodies!

Oh yes! And let's not forget about the of sweets, the blueberries mixed with fruit of shock, pumpkin with ginger, hot pepper, all prepared in the house by our host who served them at breakfast in elegant cups , along with large Irish butter cubes. Why Irish? Because the Irish still have large grassland areas, and their cows are naturally fed, the butter is therefore bio. But to be righteous in this confession, it must be said that Marcela has an obsession for natural food. Eggs buy them from the villagers from Harman, cheese is also local production, sugar is raw, unrefined, honey comes from the local producers. "It is a great privilege to be able to feed yourself naturally, for which I am grateful and thank you," says our host.

And just after finishing with those finesse, we found out what we should have first intuited: Marcela Cosnean is a cooking enthusiast already validated by all the guests who have crossed the threshold of the house but also by public, with an exceptional editorial app: he co-authored the book "Wandering Cuisine", along with photographer Răzvan Voiculescu, a photo album published in 2011. And it is the first one in Romania to open the craft made by recipes own fruits of the Transylvanian region.

Lovers of everything that is authentic Romanian, has an impressive collection of them, some hundred years old. Thanks to Marcel's marvels, I voluntarily missed a meeting in Brasov, spending half a day in front of the mirror, probing, photographing and making selfies. Women's weakness, excusable, accepted and even slightly ennobled by the beauty of those beautiful "les blouses roumaines" that enlightened our day.

And in the tailoring workshop - Marcela Cosnean is a fashion designer - I discovered another universe, that of the wide wheelchair dresses, the fluff fabrics, the lace, and especially the bastoshells that it makes and delivers on order everywhere the country.

And it must be said that I felt the blessing of every hour spent at The Country Hotel, where I explored otherwise quiet. Once at home I realized that the few days I spent here can give you, surprisingly, the path to an unexpected happiness.
