7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #92 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography Australian Monday entry:

Sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock). When I was travelling in Australia, I did not even plan on visiting Uluru. Why would anyone drive through the Outback for thousands of kilometres just to see a giant rock? But since my ride share from Cairns to Darwin wanted to see Uluru, I endet up there. I was not really expecting anything, but in fact, Uluru is so much more than just a "giant rock" and I had an incredible time in the national park!

After all those fancy colorful shots from the Caribbean that I have shared in this contest lately, I am coming with something different today. I didn´t even put it in b&w, this is how monochromatic the sceneries sometimes get on the volcanic island of Tenerife, Spain :)

A flock of sea gulls resting on a manmade barrier in a bay of Puerto Aventuras, a little coastal town and tourist resort found on the renonwed Mayan Riviera, just a short drive from the city of Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Enjoy one of the epics sunsets in Australia - Cable Beach is a 22 km (14 mi) stretch of white sand beach on the eastern Indian Ocean and the name of the surrounding suburb in Broome, Western Australia. This place is very popular in "winter" time where a lot of Aussies and bacpackers coming.

Picture taken in Cyprus. This place is called the Bridge of Lovers.
The bridge of lovers is a rocky arched bridge of natural origin, from the height of the coastal plateau with one edge stretching to the crystal clear, turquoise and emerald colors of the sea. “The bridge of lovers” was formed naturally as a result of the action of natural processes, without human intervention. It is believed that if, having kissed standing in the middle of the bridge arch, to make a wish, it will surely come true.

This picture was taken during sunset on the west coast of New Zealand's south island, near the city of Greymouth.

What I love about this picture is the contrast between the dark and rocky beach and the soft and pink background of the setting sun between the clouds.

This photo is a view on the Pacific ocean on a rest area on the beautiful Highway 1 in California. It is the first public sandy beach in Monterey county when driving from San Luis Obispo.
It's an amazing view.

Paekakariki Hill Road Lookout, New Zealand

The large masses of water surrounding New Zealand can be quite scenic. After a steep drive, we arrived at the Paekakariki Hill Road Lookout to enjoy this incredible view over the coast north of Wellington.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

When in the Caribbean, I love to go explore the region. One day, I decided to go walk on the beach and see what was at the end of the island. I did not had the time to reach the tip of the island. I might have decided to come back a little late since the tide was pretty high when I reach that part of the beach. I was a little stressed out not being able to make it back. When you look at the reef, you know why. I still would do it again anytime!
