See the winner of the last week´s South American Saturday @itchyfeetdonica with the following entry:

I took this photo during my hike in the Colca Canyon in southern Peru. It is claimed to be the deepest canyon in the world, almost twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the US. The stunning views and the high elevation kept taking my breath away. The majestic high mountains and snow-capped volcanoes were shrouded in mist, the crystal clear creek were flowing at the bottom of the deep canyons, and the condors were soaring above my heads.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

Thale Noi Lotus Lake. The sunrise around this lake was probably the most beautiful one I've ever seen in my life. The golden/orange sky felt almost unreal watching it from the boat. The location was in Phattalung - South Thailand.

@jpphotoraphy African Wednesday entry:

Nejjarine Fountain in Fez, Morocco. This beautiful fountain can be found in the Medina of Fez. It is ornamented with mosaics and carvings. Fez' Medina is as confusing to get around as a labyrinth, so you are more likely to discover places like this by accident rather than by searching for it.

@drmincu European Thursday entry:

The Apuseni are probably the wildest part of the Carpathians. Wild animals roam free in the natural reserves and man's touch is barely felt. And the nights are so dark that you can just lay down and gaze the milky way.

Located just some 50 km (30 mi) east of Medellin in the Antioquia Department, Colombia, Guatape is a little town that is home to approximately 6,500 people and some of the most vibrant, colorful and nicely decorated houses in the world.

The lagoon of playa Arecife in Tayrona National Natural Park, in Colombia. Beware of the caimans swimming in the fresh water, but enjoy the vibes, the beach and the rain forest.

One of the most spectacular sunsets I've seen in Playa Mansa-Venezuela, a magical place and one of my magical moments to see this beauty a few minutes from where I live, a colorful show to recharge positive energies and clear the mind.

Here where I live, there is the season of "Tainha" which is a fish very caught and consumed. It is a traditional event. At this time of year it is common to see fishermen working with their nets. Even surfing is prohibited on most beaches so as not to hinder fishing. This picture was taken at Campeche beach - In Florianopolis, known as Magic Island, in Santa Catarina - Brazil

The north of Argentina is vast and propice to discoveries and outdoors activities. The mountains are beautiful, and the amalgam of color is amazing. Depending on the time of day and the intensity of the sun, the color of the mountains changes from bright red to purple.

Traffic in La Paz, Bolivia

Since there is a difference in elevation of about 1.000 metres between the lowest point of La Paz and the highest point of El Alto, the sister city of La Paz, the city highway is quite steep and getting from one point to another takes a long time by car. To improve the public transport, the local government has recently introduced a system of cable cars that provide a fast and convenient way of travelling between different places around the city, but since not every place can be reached conveniently, many still opt for a ride in a minibus instead.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

Photo of the cable car that goes to the Monserrate Hill in Bogotá, Colombia. This trip is one of the main touristic attractions of the Colombian capital. From the top of the hill there is a nice view of the city.

Tepuy hill autana

EL AUTANA.jpg

This beautiful hill called by the indigenous Autana, was declared a natural monument in 1978. This tepuy is located in the state of Amazonas Venezuela and is approximately 1,300 meters high. The upper part of this mountain is completely walled by sandstone cliffs belonging to the Roraima Formation and one of its main attractions is that within the mountain there is a cave formed entirely quartz, measuring 400 meters in length and 45 meters in length. height

We stopped at this little restaurant in Cusco for a delicious breakfast on our way to the mountains. This was the start of our 4 day adventure treck to Mach Picchu. From here we reached the top off a mountain then mountain biked down it for 2 hours, it was amazing!
