@itchyfeetdonica African Wednesday entry:

Since I just posted a portrait photo from Africa, I might as well share it here. :) I took this one in a primitive tribe in the Omo Valley in the south of Ethiopia, not far from the border with Kenya. Like the other girls in the tribe, these 2 sisters decorated themselves with bright-colored beads.

A snap shot taken in the very historic center of Havana, the capital of Cuba. You can see the iconic classic American cars still rumbling the old streets of the city. There is the Cuban Capitol in the background and the Grand Theater next to it to the right.

When you take a new road, you never know what you might find. We should always keep our eyes open for interesting things like this building on a US road. I would love to know what the architect though when he designed it and how the project was received when it was proposed. I love innovative creation and this one sure is surprising. Would love to see the interior too.

The ecological Park Punta Sur, Cozumel is a state reserve whose extension exceeds one thousand hectares in which lagoon systems that constitute a mosaic of great flora and fauna diversity and wealth pre-dominate. This is the ideal place for nature lovers.

It's been photographed a lot, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It's still a wonder of architecture. At the time of opening in 1937, it was the longest and tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 4,200 feet (1,280 m) and a total height of 746 feet (227 m)

Hi,

Meredith is a small town located in New Hampshire. The town is famous for its location surrounded by lakes and water bodies. The town is best known for the fall colors along the lake shores. The fall colors have a perfect reflection in the lake. The decks are exactly built to watch the beauty of fall colors.

I had to hang out of a light aircraft for this one! This is the iconic 553 metre high CN tower in Toronto, with Billy Bishop airport in the background. This tower was the tallest free standing structure in the world until the completion of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2007 and is a major Canadian tourist attraction.

This was taken at Wells Grey Provincial Park located in British-Columbia's interior. The park contains several waterfalls and caves left behind by melting glaciers. Much of the park isn't fully explored yet and mainly known to hikers for it's rugged terrain and beauty. This is Spahat Falls ( translates to Bear), one of the easier accessible parts of the park with a short 10 minute hike

Doorway Through Time
Ancient Oceans deposited this layered sedimentation of red sand, hundreds of millions of years ago. Once solidified the formation of the Rocky Mountains lifted up this area called the Colorado Plateau. That was around 50 million years ago! Since then the erosive forces of nature have been at work. Creating the art of the Southwest!

Antelope Canyon is located in northern Arizona USA.

This is the Alcatraz Lighthouse and the photo was taken on my last trip to San Francisco. The lighthouse is 84 feet tall and is the second tallest structure on Alcatraz. The tallest is a water tank but this look taller because it is built on a higher level. The lighthouse is still in use today and can be seen from all around San Francisco

Last week my cousin and I went frolicking in the poppy fields at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve during what they call the "Super Bloom." Southern California doesn't get too much rain, but when we have a good winter like this year, the wildflowers come out in force. It sure was a wonderful site to see.
