Moonglow. Hundreds of millions of years ago ancient oceans laid down the sediments that are the basis of Sedona's red rock formations. Cathedral Rock is the icon of local scenery and can be embraced as one of natures finest works of art. This spectacle occurs only once or twice a year. Sedona Arizona USA.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Asian Sunday week #101 - winner announcement!

@jpphotography Asian Sunday entry:

View of the Treasury in Petra, Jordan. While the ticket to Petra is the single most expensive entry fee I have ever paid, locals can get in for free. Many run small shops in the site, but a few teenagers are blocking access to a trail to this viewpoint demanding a fee for a "guided tour" from any tourist who wants to pass. At first I didn't bother, but when I saw them physically attacking a tourist in front of me who had also decided to ignore them and go by himself, I turned back and took an alternative route. Apart from this event, I had very positive experiences with Jordanians, so it is a shame that the local authorities allow these highwaymen to do their sketchy business at the countries' most frequented tourist site.

@jpphotography Tuesday of Antarctica and world's oceans entry:

Wharariki Beach Reflections, New Zealand. Wahariki beach is one of my favourite spots in New Zealand. At low tide, the rock formations reflect beautifully in the water. Wahariki beach is also home to countless birds and sea lions.

@vcclothing African Wednesday entry:

Camping under the stars while on safari in the Sossusvlei desert in Namibia. We arrived to this camp site for the night, so in the morning we could climb the sand dunes. The days were hot but at night, the temperature was just perfect.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - European Thursday week #101 - winner announcement!

@itchyfeetdonica European Thursday entry:

Here's a drone shot of the stunning Durlaßboden Reservoir and the surrounding mountains in the Austrian Alps. I loved this beautiful region of Tyrol. You can enjoy breathtaking views almost everywhere after some easy hikes or drives, and the water of these alpine lakes is usually crystal clear, so reflections are common sights here.

Night view of a part of the L.A. downtown. With an estimated population of almost 4 million, Los Angeles is the second largest city in the US and the cultural, financial, and commercial center of Southern California.

Dancing in the park around Montréal, Canada. At the event "Swing l'été" which occurs three times during summer, everybody can come, discover and dance lindy hop under the shade of the outside dance floor at Verdun. It's a great way to spend your saturday afternoon.

Grand Canyon in March. I hadn't expected it to be still covered in snow, in fact I had no idea what the weather would be like. The contrast of the white snow on the top of the canyon was like two worlds from the green base.

I posted on my latest post White Grand Canyon

Taken at the University of Alberta's forested botanical garden near Edmonton. This is the newest addition to the garden with it finally completed for this summer. This was my first time seeing it in full bloom and it will only get better as the years go by and the vegetation and trees grows bigger and denser.

Electric Night
Sycamore Pass lies between Black and Casner mountains and borders the huge Sycamore Canyon complex. This very powerful middle of the night thunderstorm is seen advancing through and over the pass which is a wilderness gateway to the Sedona area. This is the beauty and fury of an electric night. Sedona Arizona USA.

The way through Guantanamo!

The sunrise in the streets of Guantanamo is unique: Old cars and colorful houses make the streets look like a movie set. The picture was taken on departure near the Hotel Marti. Guantanamo is a must to visit Cuba!

I have also posted the photo on my Marwitt | The WAY of LIFE blog.

Sequoia: when we were in California in 2016, we also visited the Sequoia National park. The views in the park are completely different. These giant trees are just amazing. On average they grow up to 50-85m high with diameters of 6-8m
The following photo shows my wife in front of one of the trees. It's only compared to a person you can actually understand the size of these trees.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, except for one thing; If you ever decide to get married, it will stay with you forever or at least it should.
If you do so, why now choose to do it in a piece of history. the Little Church of the West was build in 1942 and is the oldest church in Las Vegas. Of course, there is a lot of wedding couples and celebrities that have chosen the Little Church of the West for their wedding day, but it is still a special day!
