Fountain in Copenhagen, Denmark. When I visited Copenhagen for the first time in 2017, it was raining all day and despite the impressive architecture I could not leave fast enough. When I came back last year, I got very lucky with the weather and had a fantastic day in this beautiful city.

@travelshots Asian Sunday entry:

Elephant mountain is easy to reach by metro and after a half hour hike up several stairs it offers an excellent view of Taipei and the unique Taipei 101. At sunset the viewing platform is always packed with people and many photographers.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #82 – winner announcement!

@fotogruppemunich Australian Monday entry:

I was able to capture this beautiful sunset in Sydney. I took the picture from the ferry. The trip over I have always changed the lenses back and forth because by the trip again and again different possibilities resulted. My goal was to get the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House on one picture. Have a good start into the new week!

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans week #82 – winner announcement!

@jpphotography Tuesday of Antarctica and World´s Oceans entry:

Great Ocean Road Long Exposure, Australia. In 2016, I escaped Melbourne for a few days to cycle along the famous Great Ocean Road. On the first day, I got unlucky with the weather and instead of spending the night in my tent as I had planned to, I arrived soaking wet at a hostel. Luckily, on the second day the rain had stopped and I was able to make some stops on my way to capture the incredible landscape.

7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday week #82 - winner announcement!

@karma-panorama African Wednesday entry:

The construction of Karnak temple, in Egypt, started 4000 years ago and continued up until the time the Romans took control of Egypt, around 2000 years ago. Karnak is eclectic, since every Egyptian ruler who worked at Karnak left his own mark. Those are the statues of Ramses II as Osiris.

Front view of the famous Monte Carlo Casino, an iconic gambling and entertainment complex located in Monaco. It includes a casino, the Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo, and the office of Les Ballets de Monte Carlo. Photo taken in October 2015.

The Prince's Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the Prince of Monaco. Built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, during its long, and often dramatic history, it has been bombarded and besieged by many foreign powers. Since the end of the 13th century, it has been the stronghold and home of the Grimaldi family.

The devastating Notre Dame Cathedral fire reminded me to dig out some photos I took of the masterpiece. Before the fire, I was fortunate to have visited this famous cathedral in Paris' city centre a couple of times. This photo was taken in 2013 when it happened to be the 850th anniversary of Norte-Dame.

Barbican City Gate in Krakow, Poland

The Barbican in Krakow was formerly located a few metres outside of the city walls, serving as a defensive structure to fend off attackers. Today, the historic building is part of the charm of this beautiful Polish city.

I have also posted this photo on my blog.

my picture shows the Eibsee in Bavaria. it is right next to the Zugspitze of Germany's largest mountain. I took the picture with my drone. so you can see the small islands in the middle of the lake.

Love those shorelines

This photo corresponds to an Easter market in front of the Schönbrunn Palace in Viena, Austria. It shows some giant Easter eggs. This tradition is very common in all central and northern Europe. The Easter eggs and Easter bunnies (which they are also widely used at this festivity), they represent fertility which is associated with the spring.

Another one from my home country. Alentejo is known for its endless fields and cork trees. Here, a small lagoon found during our explorations, that provided great birdwatching opportunities and a beautiful setting for a landscape photo!

The standing rock of the picture above is known as the menhir of Almendres and it is the lonely introduction to the Cromlech of the Almendres, a complex of almost 100 megalithic structures that lies a couple of km further. And if one menhir is impressive, a whole bunch of them settled in a semi-ellipsoidal formation can be mind-blowing!

The whole post is here!

Leaning Tower (Torre Pendente) is better known. But I want to show just this temple from the 11th century. It's huge. Five-aisled Romanesque basilica.
Of course, there are also tombs of famous people in the church. As a Czech I went there to see the tomb of Emperor Henry VII. (+1313)That was the grandfather of Emperor and Czech King Charles IV.

This is Praca do Giraldo, Evora main square. This Portuguese medieval city is very nice to visit. The classic buildings, the Roman ruins, the surprising Capela dos Ossos (Bone Chapel), the old aqueduct, all this makes it an interesting city to explore.
