Hello fellow Steemians!

I am starting the week #74 of my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge and we are back to the continent of Asia.

If you like to participate, place your personal image from your travels in Asia in the comment section below with a short 30 to 50 word description. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.

Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total. So far I have given out thousands of dollars in upvotes and hundreds of SBD in rewards.

Don Khon Waterfall, Laos. After four exchausting and amazing days on the motorbike in the Bolaven Plateu last week, I visited two of the 4000 islands that are located in the South of Laos in the Mekong River and are a great place to relax. I am a bit proud of myself that I actually managed to get some work done in this chilled and hot place; To reward myself, I rented a bicycle in the afternoon and explored Don Khon island where I found this beautiful waterfall just before sunset.

Chiang Mai, Thailand - Elephant rehabilitation centere. There are many elephants, ranging in age from three months to 79 years and you can watch them being bathed and fed. The young elephants are free to roam about together in a small space of about 1/8 of an acre. The adolescents each have one leg chain that is anywhere from 1-3 meters long. The poor adults are isolated and chained on one front leg and one back leg each - so they can't move from their spot all day. According to the workers, they take the elephants to a different place to roam free at night - which I really, really, really hope is true.

How about the elephant sitting on your head? It is really sad that even well-traveled people like you support this disgusting industry based on animal abuse...

To jako vážně? Místo, kde slony přivazují třímetrovým řetězem si říká "rehabilitační centrum"? :(

Hodně si tam našlo přátele a sloní rodiny :)) Jen mají opravdu sloní paměť a dokonce i zlé sny kvůli lidem.

Xian_1.jpg
This is the Drumtower of the chinese city Xi'an. Xi'an is the ancient capital of China and used to be the start or the end of the Silk Road. Therefore many Arab traders settled here and gradually influenced the Chinese cuisine. Here you can read more about this place.

Statues in Buddha Park, Laos

On my way from Vientiane, the sleepy capital of Laos, to the border crossing to Thailand, the Buddha Park was a stop that I enjoyed a lot. This sculpture park was started by the priest Luang Pu in the 1950s; he later opened a similar park across the Mekong river on the Thai side of the border after fleeing from the communist revolution in Laos.

Wahiba Sand Desert Oman
Today I share another picture I took in the desert of Wahiba Sands. You can see the stunning sunset around this incredible area. One of the most peaceful places I have been on all my travels.

This picture shows a complete dusk at Lake Ratchada in Bangkok. It consists of a total of eleven single shots, taken at different stages of dusk. The so-called "blue hour" on the segments six to eight from the left side can be seen particularly well.

Landing from the Sun

Warm and colorful sunset at Turkey resort not far from Alanya. People having some water and air fun all around... and all day long :)
Very interesting composition from this landing parachute just from the dawning sun side

Amazing warm colors and memories...

Enjoy it!

Datong1.JPG

I was walking the whole day like a walker in the Walking Dead series. Then, I found this great place to admire for eternity because I needed to rest a little to take this outstanding picture!

I took this picture in Datong in China!

The ancient city of Angkor-Wat, in Cambodia, has an incredible amount of different temples and buildings. The ex-libris is of course the main temple, the one that appears in the postcards at sunrise; this is one of the other ones, that doesn't get that much attention, but still one of my favourites... can't recall the name though!

Really nice picture!

Shanghai skyline.
This photo was taken early in the morning on a beautiful October day. At 5AM Bund, one of the most popular areas in Shanghai is almost completely empty. You can have this panorama view just for yourself.

Suzhou, China
There are a lot of nice garden to visit in Suzhou and in some of them, you can find nice temples. In this one, the Northern Garden, I found a lot of great Buddha. All the details and thoroughness are impressive. even if most of them have been restored, we can still appreciate the art of ancient time.
